i once heard that the GT after Mods has better perfomance because of pressure? i am curious to see if i was misinformed or not. but a bigger question is all i can find for my 02 GT is intake exhaust and pulley system some help on where to find parts would be appreciated

gt is only better when turboed compared to a stock GTS
and easier to turbo since the compression is different.

for naturally aspirated mods on your GT you can get Crower Cams, Crower rods, Weisco Forged pistons, DC headers, do a port polish, Monkeywrenchracing.com makes a 2.0 bore out kit and sells the bottom end parts. if you got 500 bucks laying around you can get a nice NX 30/50/75 shot, or if you have about 4K sitting around you can buy a Turbo kit.

Custom turbo....Jealous Much??

^^ what he said. except I'd go with the hotshot header and you will want the power fc if you plan to go with cams.

and when you said "pressure" I think what you really meant was compression. because the GT has lower compression then a GTS.

no, it depends on how much boost on the stock GTS motor. GTS has a longer powerband in the upper rpms due to the ability to rev higher and the lift that makes the power possible at those higher rpms. The volumetric efficiency at those high rpms is enhanced by lift. If you want big boost, either way you'd have to change the internals on the GT or GTS. GTS will always be the better performer.

bottom line is from same stock to same boost in turbo GTS > GT. Lift makes a lot of dif.

threason that myth started is because you can run more boost safely on a GT. but all you'll get in the end is right where a GTS would be at lower boost.

it would take 12-13 lbs to get close to a GTS at 7-8psi

I heard the torque of the GT is what sets it apart, hense the power band is more even and can be more fun to drive becuase you don't need to rev it to hell before you get some juice...(I realize the GT only has a very slight torque advantage)

I also heard the GTS's lift just complicates things when you're trying to Turbo. The GT is a simpler motor, less to break..

from what I've seen it has ZERO torque advantage.

lift is only a problem for peopl ewho dont know what they are doing. done properly you'll make plenty of power.
