I've seen a lot of posts recently from members who have suffered the fate of hydrolocking their car. I was just wondering if anybody knows of some obscure cures for this? Other than totally stripping down the engine, is there anything else? What if you were to pour highly concentrated alcohol through the engine? Would the alcohol evaporate the water?

nope, stripping the engine is pretty much the only way. Alcohol will hurt your engine I believe, and it won't evaporate the water

a lot of times during hydrolock a valve gets bent or sometimes comes in contact with the piston. alcohol is great, but not that great.

don't drive in puddles/excess water.
