i want a turbo kit or superchrger for my 00 gts. a friend of myne keeps saying that i need to lower the compression ratio on my car to do that, or the motor would blow..anyway im not sure if hes right, it sounds like bs to me, but ive only put a turbo on my dodge avenger(2.0l 4cyl), and it was a direct bolt on other than retarding the timing, and i never had a problem with that car..so i just need someone whose done it or really knows ,to give me a heads up on it. i really dont want to mess with my compression(lower) just to bolt on a turbo or s/c, uless its really worth it.thanks

You dont need to lower the compression to run real low boost. Most kits that are out run like 6-7 psi for daily driving. If you want to run more boost than that then yes you do need to lower compression.

I'd say more like 8-9 psi daily. every one else is very skeptical and says lower.

on 8-9 psi You'll push about 240-250 whp depending on what kit you're running

C2power has the easiest kit to get right now. everyone has good things to say about them.

^^c2 says 6psi safely so that in the event that someone turns up the boost a little, c2 does not have liability for telling someone that it is safe to run that. their site says recommended highest 6-7, but that it can be run up to 9.
