just read your profile and you got a bunch of mods to be asking this question... where in NC ya from? With those mods you should be able to chirp 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, i can without trying to do it, trying to do it you might even be able to get 5th but i'm not sure, i don't "try" to chirp on purpose

chirping is for birds NOT tires. if you're "chirping" the tires it means you're not driving right and you're slowing yourself down.

I hate when people think this is a sign of power. it means you need better coordination. it mostly happens from poor clutch - gas timing.

ok i have aftermarket rims and tires. p215/45zr17 and barely can chirp the tires once in a while. and it will never chirp from 2 to 3 or 3 to 4 even if i land 6600rpm at 4th gear.

now that you said it lucky, ur not supposed to chirp the tires? so the reason im not chirping much is because i have good grip of the tires? it does feel that when you chirp when powershifting that means you got the peak HP.
plz be more descriptive

WERD. Chirping is really stupid. It wears the tire, clutch, and it slows you down. If you want to chirp, it's basically gas and dump the clutch. If you have good tires, probably hard to do.

alright, i know in most cases chirping slows you down, but i've watched vids of "lucky" in particular and others, and the only way to land lift on the 1-2 shift is to chirp tires or slip clutch (of course with PFC this is not necessary due to higher rev limit). So the comment

"chirping is for birds NOT tires. if you're "chirping" the tires it means you're not driving right and you're slowing yourself down."

is not accurate when talking about celica's. Most people know if you land 2nd gear without chirping/spinning at 5800 before lift it will be much slower than landing 2nd gear at 6300 chirping the tires.

there's a difference between getin a bit of wheel spin and chirping. and in my car it happens only on the 1-2. except with dr's which I get 0 spin. I still land lift though. just not as high.

if you "chirp" the tires, 99% chance that your giving too much gas before releasing the clutch. If you land your 1-2 really solid on regular street tires and a not so grippy road, your tires will lose a lil traction and yes it does slow you down. you want to avoid it as much as humanly possible. you'll never hear my tires make a sound.

ok can someone explain my situation?
i shift 1-2 pretty fast, and on 2nd gear i land around 6300rpm but never chirp or spin out a little or wutever you call it.
is that cause my tires have good grip? i have falken ziex 215/45zr17.
even with my old tires which were dry and the same size, i barely spun out.
BUT i do chirp just a bit if im on a downhill and shift from 1-2 quick.
is this cz i got big wheels? im gasing it right, but shouldnt i atleast lose traction for a second? i land 3rd on 6300rpm also and no chirp and 4th at 7000rpm and no chirp.
am i doing something wrong, or is it that i cant do it better?

yeah most likely. i can land lift high and it doesn't chirp at all, even with fast shifting. It has to do with your driving and also your tires. My tires are kumho supra z rated so they dont chirp at all, and i can't remember the last time i hydroplaned in the rain.
