I need some big time suspension advice folks. My 05 GTS only has 900 mls on it,
I have a set of Tein Stech springs, 225/35/18 wheels and tires...I take it to my neighborhood Goodyear place, They tell me "no installation with OEM shocks and struts." "The springs will dislodge themselves from the spring plates
when you hit a pothole with the OEM's." Does anyone know if this is correct? BTW, 446 bones for install! confused wave

They are telling me that if they install Teins on my OEM shocks and struts, that I could hit a pothole and the springs would dislocate themseleves from the mounting plates...AND...I would have to replace the shocks and struts anyway. Wanted to know if anyone has had that experience. They say I need shorter SS's... confused

well no shit something will happen if you were to hit a pothole but nothing that major, my rim bent and tire deflated and nothing happend and im on stock shocks and struts and my car is 80k old...make sure you get a second opinion before you go head, but you should be fine, but if you want to play it safe you can get the shocks and sturts if you have the dough.

Yeah, after thinking about it some more, I've figured out that I'm dealing with Okie "necks" that don't know what they are talking about...THEY think that "lowering springs" means a shorter spring than OEM, and thats not the case.
Just a different spring rate! I'm going back down there and tellem' "You're Goofy!" "And I was goofy for listenin' to ya!" spineyes thumbsup

they will wear down faster, since they werent meant for that hight, but its ok you can always replace it later.

also dont forget to get an alignment...you will need a camber alignment kit...i recomend getting it online before you go to the alignment shop... http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ProductDisplay?prrfnbr=242038&prmenbr=361 (the 15 mm ones: 81270) at a shop they will charge anywhere from 50-90 dollars for them

good luck

You make it sound easy, truth is I broke my back in 74' and that kind of labor,(under the car) does'nt work to well for me. But, I do have friends...maybe! thumbsup

zug zug...i understand if cant do the labor then pay the money...we were just trying to help thumbsup
and what you quoted me on was about the camber kit...just to let you know that has nothing to do with your own labor its just a part you will need before you take it to get aligned (that can only be done at a shop)
