Ok, I juss got 17" ADRs nd am lookin in2 a new spring nd shock package... So far, from wut iv heard, the Hotchkis Springs w. KYB AGX Shocks r the best you can get 4 the money, so thats wut im goin 4 rite bout now. Do those AGXs cum w. struts 2, or is that xtra??! nd wut should i hav them set on F/R 4 the best ride/performance comprimise?!! cool

If you hav these or would recommend a diff setup, please lemme kno as Im still shopping round nd gettn opinions, especially those frum Celica owners lol...

Also, wut is the best drop I should b going 4; 1", 1.5" or 2", w. 17"x7"s?!! I rly like the look of cars that hav ben lowerd alot, and more so in the rear than the frunt because it flattens the whole car out, nd i say it makes it look more aggressive than havn the rear an " higher!!? thumbsup

***Please keep in mind that I hav a VS Kit, w. TSRM Xhaust!!***
*(ground clearance?)*

THANX ALL!! ~Mike. thumbsup

Um, all I know from the title is that you want to lower your car. I learned from reading your post don't have the slightest clue on what you are doing. Instead of all of us telling you want to do, why don't you spend a little time and do a few searchs and look at what people have done... You will come across pics on your search that may help you make up your mind.

Lastly, please learn how to use decent grammer, so people can understand you. Using sentences and actual words will help us understand more of what you want to know or need help with.

Oh, and by the way, shock/struts are the same thing, although a strut is in front and the shock is in the rear, they are more commonly refered to as all 4 being shocks.

My car is gunna be 10x faster than yours...haha... I'm gunna buy like 10
of those speedchips! I figure if 1 gets me 20hp then 10 will get me 200hp!

wow, confusedsorry I offended all of you with my lazy internet-shorthand... Ive typed like that since I was a little kid, and I guess its just not gunna fly on here. Well, Heres an edited version of the original post:

~Ok, I just got 17" ADR rims and am looking into a new spring and shock package... So far, from what ive previously gathered, the Hotchkis Springs with KYB AGX Shocks are the best package you can get for the money, so thats what Im probably going to get. Now, if you already have these, I would just like to ask your opinions on them and ask for your suggestions as to what settings they should be set on front/rear for the best ride/performance comprimise. If any of you would recommend a different setup I should look into, please let me know, as I value your opinions and respect your experience with Celicas over my own. Also, since I like the look of cars that are lowered a lot verses those only lowered a little, how much is too much to lower the car with my new 17"s? As well as, does anyone know of other springs that lower the rear of the car more so than the front, because I personally like the look of that better.? Please do keep in mind that Im currently installing a VS Body kit and TSRM Exhaust with it, so should I be concerned with ground clearance at all? Thank you all, Mike.~

LOL, thumbsupI sincerely hope that clears everything up for you... Any Comments?!!

hehe, don't take it personal it's just hard to help someone when they make it difficult to read the problem.

shocks and struts are the same thing, the two words are synonimous. KYB AGX shocks are dampening adjustable which is nice since you can adjust them to suite your driving style. hotchkis springs i'm not too familiar with but they do drop the car significantly. I know Tein springs are nice, they drop the car about 1.4 inches and have a good spring rate. but i see no problems with the hotchkis/KYB AGX setup.

But if you want the best i'd go with some coilovers.

hey Kevin, that sounds like a good deal, but I was lookin at the pics of your car, and it doesnt look like they lowered it enough for what Im going for... Im thinkin more of a 1.5-2" drop, but they look sweet on yours, btw, nice yellow instrament cluster!! thumbsupYea Kim, I really like the AGXs, but am still leaning towards a lower drop, especially with my new 17s... 2 bad most Coilovers r wayyy too expensive for me, crymaybe later down the line... also, nice racin celi! The whole, no-spoiler-look is really growin on me!!? grin

shocks and struts are basically the same thing, but they are different. struts are an actual support member like in the front it pivots the wheel and does other things besides dampening the bounciness of the spring while shocks are simply there to do their job of dampening the springs. our car has 4 struts that hold up the front and back wheels. and yeah the tokico hp with shocks and struts is the cheapest package your going to get. if all you want is lowering I'd go with that. if your into a more high performance handling then tein basic damper coil overs are a good deal for your money about double the tokico set, but fully adjustable. but when you get your fully adjustable coil overs adjusted for you(which by the way if you want it lower in the back you can do that) make sure you go to a shop that knows what they're doing so they don't just tune it so you go flying off the road when you go around a corner, or wear the crap outta your tires.(best place if possible would be a race shop that tunes race cars for tracks)
