The celica interior isn't to bad I suppose but it's nothing special really. As of right now I'm pretty happy with the way the outside my car looks it's clean and I like it. However I'm bit unsure what to do about the interior and thats what I like to mod next.

So far all I have is the indigo gauges so I'm open to any ideas. I've been considering going with a Black Carbon Fiber Dash set or maybe having the dash painted or a combo of the two. Also been looking at the alluminum dash kits.

As far as painting the dash I've heard both good and bad things about it. I'm concerned about the paint chipping and generally looking pretty bad after awhile. Also wondering if this would lower the car worth to?

Basically I'm just trying to make the interior in general look better other then painting or a Carbon Fiber Kit I'm out of ideas so any ideas would be welcome.

Hmm. Well then maybe I'll go with a Black Carbon Fiber console kit with the dash painted silver. Or perhaps aluminum console kit with the dash painted black. Sigh just trying to make it look nicer the one thing I do like betetr about the 2003 celica's over my 2000 is the fact that the interior looks better with that charcoal color.

I would either go with the Aluminum dash kit or I would paint ...I bought Vinyl and just "finished" installin it (It takes an extremely large amount of Time and Patience) I would recommend paint- I have heard that Vinyl is better because its not permanant BUT I messed up on a peice and tryed to "correctly" remove the vinyl and it Did damage the paint on my console... so its not harmless- Paint or Alum Dash kit is the way to go! If you go into the Ecelica Gallery and click "interior" Im sure you will be able to find some Ideas on how/where to put color...
Good Luck! thumbsup

I like the interior of your car quite a bit Bill, always have. I've just been nervous about the paint chipping for example.

How much did that run you about? Perhaps I'll paint the dash and console black and maybe do like silver on the vents and what not. Still I do like the idea of either a Carbon Fiber console or Aluminum console. I really just need to give this osme thought I guess. I just want to make my interior sharp looking, similiar to yours.

I mean after all the best thing about the celica is it's looks far as I'm concerned so why not improve on it?

I think painting that lowers the worth of the car a lot when you sell it as used. Some people do like it modded like that though, and if the right person found it, of course everything would work out. That doesn't happen though. People sell/trade their cars back in to dealers. Dealers don't like mods. I think any mod can hurt the value.
Don't worry about that too much and enjoy working on your car. It's worth it.

True enough. I would never trade back to a dealer anyway they don't give you near enough for what you can get selling private. To buy this car I sold my 95' Maxima with 150,000 miles on it. Dealer wanted to give me 2300. Selling it privately I ended up with 5grand.

In the end anyway when I do sell my celica finnally I'll use that money to mod my next car so I guess it's not the end of the world if I lower it's worth some.

Actually I've heard some people say they had problems removing the Carbon Fiber dash kit.

I'm starting to lean towards painting the console and vents. Not sure what colors though.

you just heat up the Carbon Fiber kit to take it off...then you heat it again to re-apply.

other ideas for the interior: custom carpet and floormats, neons, I.C.E., gauges, custom upholstery for the seats and interior plastics... wink
