My wife's 2001 Celica needs a new driver's side window motor. I snagged that and went to install it, but removing the old regulator is proving...challenging. Am I missing something? Removed the two window stop nuts, removed the 3 nuts in the service holes, removed the two on the bottom. But that window just refuses to budge off the bolts its attached to.

I've used the manual volume 2 (same images found in the topic here ).

Is it a matter of not pushing it hard enough? Admittedly I'm a little wary of pushing the window TOO hard and breaking window, but the bolts just don't want to come off the window, and until then I can't pull the old regulator off.

Have you tried lubricating the nuts with a bit of WD40? OR if you believe the nuts were tightened with LOCTITE (Toyota usually uses BLUE, IIRC) use a heat source such as a gas BBQ lighter [google.com] to heat up the "loctite" glue (blue) so it could be unscrewed.

More information on using heat to remove loctite can be found at: http://www.ehow.com/how_5201363_remove-loctite-bolts.html -- If you've never done this before, searching YouTube videos for "how to remove loctite bolt" could provide additional help.

Personally, I have never replaced a window motor, just other parts within the frame. So my advice may be useful to you, or it may not.

Through much cajoling and cursing I was able to work it out. Putting it back together was much easier when I could work with it in a halfway down position (more room to move the glass/align the bolt holes) but when it was stuck up it didn't want to do that.
