I'm wondering if any of you know an easy way to tweak the front seat situation. I'm 6'4" and I sit like I'm in a yoga class when I'm driving. It's hard to reach zen. Can I just put some thin steel panels under the tracks to push it back some more, or will that interfere with the back seat when folding down? Any of you have this problem?

Many compact cars are just that. Compact. Especially Compact sports cars, and compact economy sports carts, and economy cars from Japan. If you believe that the 2000+ Celica is tight, try getting in to an MR2-Spider, Scion FRS, or even a Lotus Elise.

Contact the guys at "Extend My Seat" - https://extendmyseat.com
They dont specifically list the Celica on their site, but they may offer more than what they advertise online.

If you take a look at a stock seat install pictorial, you'll notice that there really isn't a lot of room behind the seats to go back much further, but if you're able to find a replacement set of rails for the stock seats or an aftermarket set of seats that you like (with sliding rails and also uses a smaller foot-print/shorter) you could probably get an extra 4 to 8 inches from it.

I look at the website (extendmyseat.com) at the Toyota Matrix (2003-2008) and the seat look the same but this is what they said: We do not have a solution for your celica 2000. Each vehicle has a unique set of dimensions. I gess i would have to find someone who could make some plates with the right thread for bolts.

If the seats between the Celica (2000-2005) and the Matrix (2003-2008) are physically interchangeable, with the sliders and mounting points being identical, then the extension plates would also be the same.

The only exception would be ** if ** the extension plates allow for 12" of relocation further back in the Matrix. In the Celica, due to the limited leg-room between the front of the rear seats, there may not be 12" of space to allow the seat to slide back to its full distance.
