If i turn my stereo past like 17 out of 40, the speakers start popping really bad and hissing and shit, turn it to 16 and it stops, they're not even close to being cranked. It seems also to only be with CD's...radio doesnt do it, any suggestions like a bad ground or something?

if it is an aftermarket radio, just know the power handling capability of the stock speakers are 12 watts, most radios start at 40 min.

cds play louder than what a radio station would

The same thing happens to me!! It only happened after my aftermarket stereo was put in. So maybe I need to redo the wiring? lets hope that works because its the most annoying thing ever!!!

sometimes when instaling a stereo, the ground will come apart, and some how or another the radio will still work but not quite right. check the ground. if you dont have an amp the remote wire may be touching a speaker wire and back loading.
