Car is a Toyota celica vvti 2003 plate

I got the clutch changed, with an Exedy clutch kit from eurocarparts.

The clutch pedal feels really light, almost like a feather. The biting point is now 1inch from the floor maybe a little more.

But as I hit the biting point the clutch pedal feels like its spring loaded. Feels really weird, and hard to control. Since I was used to the clutch being the same throughout, on most cars it's a clean movement.

It feels almost notchy when I release the clutch, smooth travel from the floor until I hit the engage of the clutch, then it changes to very springy and tries to snap back up into normal pedal position. Almost feels like at the engage a spring is activated and it wants to fly up. It's hard to control at that point, which makes it not that pleasurable to drive.

Is this normal for a new clutch in this car? My golfs clutch felt the same after a clutch change. Where as this one feels like I've never driven it before. Having to relearn how to pull away again.
