it depends on what kind of subs you have and what type of music they are going to hit...
if you have them angled towards the back seat, you will feel a lot more of the bass and it will travel towards you...
when they are angled down, I am guessing the sound is going to be pushed into the body of the car, possible resulting in a harder hit?

and when they face the trunk, you are just getting normal...facing towards the trunk isn't the best way to get the full sound...

we tried different ways in my brothers Tundra and it sounded awesome having it pushing straight ahead towards him.

Actually billy ur wrong on one thing...

If you face a sub towards the back of a car towards the trunk...it will like more bass...because the bass bounces off the trunk and multiplies... thumbsup

I thought that it wouldn't matter which way you mounted them as long as the cubic foot volume stays the same.

Which way would be better ?

Ok Time for the DJ to lend his experteeez

For one, Bass will be louder behind any sub..Go to a club, and stand behind their huge sub and you will see what I mean..When you mount the sub in reverse like that, you wire the terminals in opposite too, causeing the sub to hit inwards towards the magnet when the bass hits instead of its usual outwards away from the magnet..IMO, they r not designed for this type of movement when the main excursion of the woofer is in the opp direction...I have heard a sub connected like this and I did not like it at all.. thumbsdown

Just remember this, when you face a sub towars the trunk, You get the bass fromt he rear f the sub, plus the bass that rerverbs off your back/hatch windshield and the trunk therefore its louder and cleaner.. rice **aaand im spent**
