Hi, just wanna know if anyone already know a local material distributor that sells "Aluminum Diamond Plate Sheet Metal" so i can cut out floor mat alumium inserts.. i have all the tools... so instead of spending 150 on premade one.. i can make em for just the cost of the material.. anyone know if homedepot or sometother local places has em?

It really depends on where you are at to find out if it's local or not. What I done is I went down to a local welding place here in my home town and tell them that you want the diamond plated aluminum. May cost a little bit more than the steel but it's a hell of a lot easier to use. I put them on my pedals. I had the factory rubber covers but yea that's what I would do just check into your local welding place or industrial rental place if there happens to be one nearby I'd bet they would be more than happy to sell you some. thumbsup

I was thinking of making my own diamond plate floor mats as well...but I was going to paint them gunmetal or black...but Id have to get them powdercoated for the paint to stick worth a damn huh?

hmm a welding place, i live in area with a lot of freakin body shops, wreck shops, etc... i dont know... i just need like 4-5 feet of it... only problem im facing wit hdesign is bending it so conforms behind the pedals... or should i leave the carpet there and put the metal on top, flat?

where do you live?? I have a local spot only five miles from home, and they have a cash and carry with some stock that has dented corners and such you can save a TON of money if only the corner is bent. By the way, al. diamond plate is pretty expensive, I think it comes in 4'x8' sheets, and around $100 per sheet(eighth inch thick). Maybe we can go in halfs for a sheet. grin

Hell yea there expesnive, thank god for autowreck yards, they had this huge sheet of it, bented on the corners but the center was still shiny i bought it for 45 bucks what a deal, cut it out welded a trim on the edges, looks elite.. thx... hee junk yards pwnd! thumbsup [looks for xs turbo] rofl
