What oil solution is best at this time of the year??? I got a 2000 celica gts w/ less than 25,000 mileage on it. Just bought 4 quart of Mobil 1 at 5w-30, is this good???? And suprisingly, the oil filter cost only $4 something at autozone and that's the best they got...

Mobil 1 and Castrol are great brands. 5w-30 is good for winter, 10w-30 for summer or all year round if it does not get that cold where you live. The filter... I would have gone with Toyota OEM or K&N, but thats just me.

You'll be good with either 5w30 or 10w30.

Once you use synthetic, you have to keep using it or else things like your valve seals will go bad.

is that not counting the extra 1/2 quart the oil filter takes up?

i put 4 quarts in start her up for a few seconds.

then put one more in and my oil is just below full.

I'm on level ground too.
