getting a larger scoop is mostly for looks. It does help cool air flow into the engine better, but thats about it I guess. grin

Sorry man. I did not set the price. But cosidering it is a rare scoop an extra $40 over the $150 you want to spend is not bad. An actual TRD Sport M scoop will cost over $500 US after shipping and taxes from Japan.

It's not painted, but is of such quality that no prep work should be needed.
$250 Canadian (which works out to about 190 US, depending on the rate on particular day) was the GB price. They will make more as orders come in. I am not sure what the regular price is going to be. The shop just wants to complete the GB orders and go from there. I will know in a couple of weeks. They can also make them in Carbon Fiber and colored Kevlar (red/black, yellow/black and blue/black). those are more money. Stay tuned I guess.

The Brash Boy scoop is similar in shape to TRD M but taller. I contacted them when I was looking for a TRD M, thinking that it was the same. They gave me dimensions, that's how I know it's height. It is certainly an excelent alternative, but wa too agressive (height wise for my liking) plus it was in the same price range as getting a TRD M scoop. Anything coming out of Japan gets dutied to the wazzoo. And as we all know that's what makes JDM stuff so expensive.

Here is BrashBoy. It is listed at $189 US for a FG one, same as the one we are having made, but shipping and duties out of Japan will probably double the cost.

Here is the one we are having made. As you can see it is lower. The shop sculpted it from pictures and dimensions I provided directly from TRD in Japan. Shipping should not be anymore then $15, I would guess.
