i herd that when you modify a car you should improve on what it already is good at. this for the celica of chorse means handaling. what do you all think about this way of going about tuning?

Yea I agree, the celica isn't made for drag racing and straights, its all about the curves. But people want power on the straights too. I'd like to keep a good balance, but concentrate on suspension more than muscle.

i agree that you should mod for strengths, but i also beleive in balance.
while the handling for the celica can be improved..it already comes off the assembly line with a good setup.
while adding a strut bar and a few other less ambitious mods will do your car good...i wouldnt go overboard on the handling if you don't add power to it.
and just my opinion..but i'm a sucker for nice interiors & sound systems as well. just keep it balanced and you can't go wrong.

I tend to agree.. the celica already has some pretty awesome handling so I would upgrade some of the other areas and then once that is done you could return to the suspension.

Honestly do whatever you want. BUt if you want to improve on handling first thing should be hotchkis sway bars and some springs.
Honestly I'm going the total package route I guess. As soon as I get my turbo in I'm going to start saving up for some handling ugprades and go with some sways, struts, and springs or maybe coilovers (not sure yet but I think springs).
Not going to bother with things like rims etc. Celica looks nice stock. I'd rather have some nice surprises under the hood.

Actually some people might say ricer heh I have a Carbon Fiber hood and body kit so people think I'm just osme kid with a few mods. Come springs I'll be some kid with a turbocharged, lsd, sticky tires, and suspension setup celica .

sleepers are a beautiful thing theres hardly a worse feeling then lining up to what looks like a stock civic w/someone revving their engine. i just chuckle, floor it, and then get a sick stomach as i eat their taillights
