I was looking at installing some gauges to spruce up the interior a little, and I was wondering which gauges would be the easiest to install. I'm talking about the fuel pressure gauges, oil pressure, water temp, fuel ratio, voltmeter, etc. I'm not talking interior mounting wise, because that seems easy enough, but rather along the lines of installing the sensors under the hood. I really have no idea on how complicating this is, and whether people opt to have this prefessionally done, or whether one can do it by themselves. I looked for some install guides, but they were rather vague, so I was wondering which gauges I could install myself, how to do it, and which I should have done professionally, and how much you think it would cost. I would rather do it myself, but whatever works. Thanks in advance.

do it yourself, its real easy, I went with volt meter and air/fuel ratio, both do not have sensors, they both tap into existing wires so you dont even need to go into the engine bay

Sweet! Do all N/A gauges tap into wires, or do some require mounting sensors in the engine bay?
Also, what did you have to do, just splice the wires together?

some do go into the engine bay and yes all I did was tap into the oem wires already inside the car, you just have to find it and thats what we r here for

In other words, which can only be installed by placing sensors under the hood? the popular brands of gauges have you install everything to a control unit and have sensors where ever...such as Blitz and TRD gauges... others you can tap into things... I have Volt tapped into a 12v source and my water temp is tapped into the engine where ever but, most mechanical do not work simply because the celica's engine is more electrical than older engines.

Ok, so as I understand it, fuel pressure, water temp, air/fuel mixture, and other such gauges can't be electrical? I mean, what wire would you tap into to get any of that shit. Unless you intercept a wire transmitting the temp from the engine to the temp gauge in your car, I don't know.
