My VIS Carbon Fiber hood is SICK! but I still want to get some APR Carbon Fiber mirrors and the purpose of my post, I want to get that Carbon Fiber trunk garnish that used to be in the ECelica store. Isaac, is that going to be making a comeback anytime?

YOU GOT THE HOOD ALREADY???? You bastard, I'm gonna come to Cochrane and give your car and swift kick...don't worry, I won't kick it too hard!

Haha, anyways, put up some pics when you get it all done! Gimme a good 4 months, and I'll have my kit on and my Carbon Fiber OEM hood on, plus possible dampers and rims! Then we'll see!! Don't kick my car though, it's been abused too much already...

I wonder how much weight you could shave if you swapped in every possible carbon part for the celica, mirrors, lift gate handle, pillars, everything you can.

maybe you should weigh the stock vs carbon fiber parts as you go, then tally up the weight savings (13 Lbs per 1HP freed up on the GTS can add up to some nice performance gains!)

exactly why the bodies and interiors on top end exotics are made entirely out of Carbon Fiber.

I have the hatch piece and love it, but I think it only looks good on a few colors and you need to have more to match. As far as I know right now no one is making the whoe hatch in carbonfiber because of flexing probs with the frame. Even if they did make it the whole hatch only weighs about 1/4 of what the glass does so you would also need to put some lexan glass back their too, and according to FAL they have no plans to make it.

yeah, that an aluminum honeycomb. also a reason why they cost so very much.

VIS Racing has several applications for Carbon Fiber rear hatches, like this one for the RSX. IMO, looks looks a little strange but, hey, carbon fiber just looks so damn cool!

if you replaced everything with Carbon Fiber, and I mean EVERYTHING( frame, panels, mounts, etc, etc) the celica might be as liht as 1600-1700lbs and that would be a moster machine.

It would cost probably $190-200K to get all the pieces made, but it would be a 4 second 0-60 monster...

If you got into an accident, kiss your life goodbye, because Carbon Fiber doesn't crumple, it shatters eek

probably but you can fix that when you paint it, i know a guy that has his hood and fenders out of carbon fiber and painted, you wouldn't know unless you tapped it or saw the underside, which isn't painted
