I got a '00 gts with 53k and the engine light came on right after I did some springs changes the day after Christmas, but then they went away. But then today, the engine check light came on again. Anybody know why? Could it be the air filter? spineyes

Oh, ok, thanks. Just curious, how does that help? And why did they come on after I switched stock springs to trd? I thought the aerodynamic was different and the air was hitting the thermo sensor in front of the radiator at a different angle, that's all I could come up with.

Disconnect the negative terminal to reset. Do U have any sort of CAI intake? Is your car from Toyota and certified? If it is I would take it back and have them check and fix it. Your car still should be covered under warranty anyway. Bring the car back to wherever you got it if the CEL doesn't go away and have them fix it whatever it may be. If U just got the car then it shouldn't be a problem. Your springs shouldn't have anything to do with a CEL.

Sorry, I forgot, disconnecting the battery and turn your key in the ignition all the way to get ride of any juice still left. This resets the ECU. Re-connect after 10 mins. to a half day (I heard many points about that but I'm not sure). Drive around for a while and if after a couple of days the CEL doesn't come back well I still would take your car back to where U got it anyway.
