With the component speakers, I'll have 4 speakers (2 tweeters and 2 mini-subs) correct? What will I do for the other 2 speakers since GT come's with 6 speakers?

With the GT, I believe the six speakers are the four 6 1/2" speakers and the two tweeters on the door. The component set will take care of the front... you can just replace the backs with a set of three-way 6 1/2" speakers.

That's correct. Even though tweeters aren't reeeally speakers toyota is counting anything that remotely resembles a speaker. So as stated before the front is all set, just replace the back.

Haha... I think all the auto companies are doing this now. I think it was either the Mazda 6 or Mazdaspeed Protege that claim to have a 9 speaker system. Give me a break.

Totally sucks man. It's almost easier to get a stock crap system to upgrade because of wiring complications anyways! How quality would it be if it was 2 main speakers and just a dash of 7 tweeters?
