I own a 2002 Celica GT. I have discs in front, drums in rear, and no ABS. I want discs all the way around and hopefully ABS. Is there a way of converting what I have to say the GTS brake system with 4 wheel discs? Is there a benefit?

I've also pondered something: converting my Celica brake to Supra Turbo brakes. The brakes on the Supra are perfect out of the factory. I've done some research on the topic.

Supras use 12.7" vented discs with 4 piston calipers in front and 12.8" vented discs with 2 piston calipers in rear. The stock wheels measure 17x8 (front) and 17x9.5 (rear) both with 50mm offset. The wheel stud pattern is 5x114.5 with a 12x1.5 stud thread.

Celica GTs have 10.8" vented discs in front and a drum in the rear. The GTS has 10.6" solid discs in rear. On my Celica I am running 17x7 wheels with a 40mm offset all around. The stud pattern is 5x100 with a thread pattern of 12x1.5.

Of course the first problem that will arise for converting to Supra brakes is the fitment. The stud pattern is off by a hair. So the question arises, can the stud pattern be changed? Can I change my studs from 5x100 to 5x114.5? Next, the drum issue in rear. I'd have to do a serious conversion to change from drums in rear to big discs in rear. Then there's the master cyllinder. Using the Supra brake system might require using the Supra master cyllinder to allow for the propper caliper pressure. With a change in systems comes the possibility for new brake lines. Finally, the cost. The cost for doing all of this work will likely be up there. OEM parts tend to cost a pretty penny.

Does anyone know if all this can be done? I have a feeling that the Supra brakes will cause the Celica to squeal every time the brakes are applied, which isn't always a good thing. But it would be nice to see the "Supra" imprinted calipers on my ride. Any help or comments will be appreciated.

you should get the TRD big break kit, it would take a lot of work to use supra breaks
