Does anyone know where you can purchase the stock climate control panel. It's the digital one that comes stock in sweden, it may be stock somewhere else but I know it doesn't come that way from the US.

why would you purchase tha stock??? tha digi is way better plus installin a stock, you'd have to take out all tha wiring and shit like that i say you just keep tha digi it's way betta anywayz. thumbsup thumbsup

You need to convert like everything to make it work, you need to change out so much to make it work, it's not just a switch. You need a diff ecu and you need to add motors to all the vents etc etc, it's about an $800+ conversion if you have the american model. PLUS it's kinda nice to have the analog, doesn't look as cool but in order to change the temp on those you have to keep hitting the buttons instead of just a quick turn. If you wana throw the money into the conversion go for it, but I think the analogs while they don't look as god are more practical. There was another thread on this awhile back that went into the details of the switch and where to get all the parts if you want to spend the $$

Yeah, that cash can be used in a lot more efficient ways. My mom has digital in her car, it's actually kind of a pain in the ass anywho

Haha... I agree the analog is just as good for practical use, if not better. You don't want to have to do the conversion of 1.8 times the temp + 32 degrees while driving just to set the temp to what you want.

I still want the analog automatic temp control that the IS300 has though, that thing is sweet.

The digital is so much better than analog. Just turn the right knob to the desired temperature and the car sorts out everything. with the analog you are constantly turning knobs to keep the temp stabile.

I had analog a/c in my 6th gen celica. I have the digital a/c now. Way better than that, wy better

the fact that we (the netherlands) measure temp in centigrade makes it easier indeed smile

Actually I do like the idea of an AUTOMATIC temp control. That's why I commented that I love the Lexus IS300 setup so much. It's an analog control that is fully automatic; you just decide the temp you want the car at. I'm surprised they didn't package it with the Celi here in the US, since sooo much of our car is ripped-off from the Lexus inside.

the digi climate control also denotes temperatures in celsius..not very practical if you live in the states. of course, over time, you will learn to adjust to these figures...so its your call. you can get one i'm sure..check ebay or some foreign autopart shops (united kindgom would probably be best...most obviously because they speak the same langauge). be prepared to pay steep shipping costs though.

ditto. as much as i love my celica...i can think of 10 or 15 complaints right off the top of my head that even ford does a better job at spineyes

I dunno though, I wouldn't waste $800 bucks on the conversion of everything. You can get much cooler/practical things with the $800+ for your celi. Who needs fancy...surely not I . Besides I like the clicking sound of the dials :-)

You guys are forgetting one thing

a new us celica GTS costs about 23k usd right? which equals about 19k euros at the moment
a new euro GT costs about 33k euros, you guys can buy a 350Z for that.

the only thing we get for that is the digi climate control and the jdm-style door strips.
Oh yeah, and the plastic things in the cover to put some loose parts in.

Yuck, I paid more for a 3 year old GT than you guys do for a brand new GTS

You're right about that one. Here in Finland GT costs the same 33k euros and GTS about 40-41k euros. I also paid for my 2000 GT (VVT-i) last year more than new one in the US cry

ya a few months back someone also came up with this question and it came down to the same reply that it was too much money and too much time to install. but hey it's your money and car, i'm not going to tell you how to spend it

Yeah... I think it'd be a kickass conversion, but only if you've done about 25 other things that are more important first. If you're trying to finish off a show car, then it may be worth it.

Well the RSX's come with climate control, so why can't the Celicas? I think it's a matter of Toyota moving into the 21st century. Eventually they will have it on all of their cars most likely, but they are probably only going to reserve it for more expensive models.

it is 33K E for a 143hp GT. Count out how much that is in dollars. So would you pay that for a GT?

we get digi airco
brake discs all around
16 inch rims

240HP in a GTS with LSD and 2500 would smoke just about everything in the sport compact class, including the SRT-4

The RSX has that stuff because it's a luxurious Honda, with a higher price tag and more whistles.

the only way i'd buy a 240 hp celica for 33k is if they somehow got rid of all the 140 and 180 horsepower celicas...or if they changed the design for the 240hp ones.

sorry..but thats why i don't get the point of buying a saleen mustang..it looks basically the same as a v6 mustang but 5 times the cost.

style means just about as much to me as performance does. i'm not going to buy a 240 celica that looks the same as a 140 celica...i'd get something that the base model costs more and performas well (and obviously looks good, too)

It is very costly and time consuming to conver it BUT LED conversion to change the color would so easy on those...
