WINDAGE TRAY Ok, so you think this is something you bolt to the front of your ride to scoop air up into your engine? No, actually a windage tray bolts to the bottom of your engine block between your crank and your oil pan. When you drive, g-forces splash oil up onto the crank and prevent it from turning as free as it could be. A windage tray keeps oil down in the pan and prevents oil from clinging to your crankshaft. Don't worry, the crank gets plenty of lubrication during engine operation. Using a windage tray gives you more HP, like 5 or more depending on your mods.

"CANTONS Universal Screen Windage Trays deliver the maximum oil control and horsepower savings. These trays use "one-way" screen which follows the radius of the crankshaft. This design allows oil coming off the crank to pass thru the screen and not allow the oil in the sump to reach the rotating assembly."
It's looks like it's just a mesh, how could the oil only go one way and not the other??? Sounds fishy to me!

^^ haha your guess is as good as mine. sounds about as logical as the 'tornado' thing that increases 'up to 15 mpg' but when you read the box its average mpg savings is something like 1-2

You guys are sad. Windage trays have been around forever; and yes, they do work. it's basically a screen that scrapes the oil from the crank lobes. It also keeps the oil in the pan where it belongs.
The mesh has tapered holes in it, larger end of the hole faces the bottom of the pan, so the pressure up top is geater than under the screen; Your oil goes out on the crank side, and can't get back through the other way around due to the lower pressure on the pan-side.
An applicatin-specific metal louvered tray will work better though. In lieu of that, however, the universal one would do the job.
1) it keeps your oil from frothing up.
2) it helps your engine rev quicker.
You need to know your way around a car to install one of these, but it's not that difficult.
