Take it to a local shop, it it tested against the OBII, and just listen to it... sometimes you can hear damage, Run the vin on car fax, or even at the dealer they may do it for free, the more you pay on that site the more information you get...It could have a clean title now, but that could be scrutized and be found to be a updated title from...
Just make sure you check it out. look at a brand new 2002 or a close to stock one and see that it has all the same fetures the stock one should...Just make sure you dont get ripped when you become the second owner it might be hard to find a third for resale

wats wrong wit the rev limiter it limits your rpm's to 7800, instead of 8300 like the other years, it will make your car slower, because of not being able to land in lift
was....5speed with i/h/e 15.41 @ 89.30mph 2.282 60'
is....04 srt4 stock 13.936 100.15mph 2.177 60'

wats wrong wit the rev limiter it limits your rpm's to 7800, instead of 8300 like the other years, it will make your car slower, because of not being able to land in lift true. but the car seems cheap. if i were you though, i would take it to a hardcore inspection. intake exhaust and all that. when someone puts that on their car, thats a sign they pushed the car to all its limits. being an 02, there is both good and bad news. the good news is that since it has a limit at 7800rpm, the previous owner couldnt put as much as pressure he wanted to. the bad news is that if you buy it, you wont kick in lift. itll cost you about 500$ to fix this up its possible. take it to a trusted mechanic and let him inspect body and mechanic injuries. good luck

The only way I'd get an '02 is if I knew for a fact that I was planning on changing the ECU so I could hit 8300 RPM like the other years.
That being said... I'd also be worried about buying a car with exhaust mods already done. First because I like to know that any mods I have are installed correctly, and second because it likely means the car has already been pushed and/or raced.
I'd say that you should find a certified used 01 from a dealer, then use the cash you'd likely save to do your own mods. It's more rewarding to customize your own car, and you'll thank yourself for not having the 7800 limiter.

doesn't sound too bad...i'd do it yes and no. while price wise it is a good deal...it's an '02 and thefore has a rev limiter..which kind of defeats the purpose. personally, i'd hang on and wait out for a similar deal on any other model year (anything except '02). if it's an '03, the price will likely be a little higher, but thats understandable. if its less than an '02, the price will be less and thats also understandable. get a good deal relative to the deal you have on the '02.

good deal but make sure you inspect everything Yeah, and because it has an intake and exhaust on it, you gotta assume that it was raced. With that said, I don't know if you are getting this from a dealer or privately, but ask why it is or was being sold in the first place. If you are buying it from a dealer, they aren't gonna tell you the truth anyways, but oh well.

www.kbb.com [ kbb.com] you do the math..you can see what the car is worth if you buy/sell retail, private party, or trade-in. take these quotes as TOP PRICE..anything over and your getting screwed. if anything talk them down a grand or so and the deal sweetens
