Ok...so this should probably help those who are thinking of installing a Push Button Starter in their Celica. Check out these sites for more info on their products:

There are four wires you will need to run from the back of your Start Button. It is easiest to remove your center console to do this as well as the panel under your steering wheel.

Wire #1 use 18Gauge and this wire needs to run to any 12 volt power when the ignition is on. This is also the power that will illuminate the light.

Wire #2 use 18Gauge and ground this wire.

Wire #3 use 12Gauge and splice into your ignition wire (so you can still start the car without the button)

Wire #4 is optional but it provides the anti-grind feature of Ignited Start Buttons so while the park brake is down and you're driving the button won't function and some fool can't push it and mess your shit up. Use 12Gauge and connect this wire to the emergency brake light power.

This info is basically specific to the Ignited Starter and not others although feel free to check out some others if you want

eBay Item [cgi.ebay.com]

Currently here is a link for the Ignited starter on eBay brand new for $49.99USD which is a great price.

Most people put the button where the cig lighter currently goes but check out the DIN aluminum plate that I got, it comes in different colors and stuff.

If you're thinking about getting the DIN plate, they include 2 sizes, although they advertise it as "universal" whatev though. If you're like me and have that hole under your current deck that apparently "holds" CDs although it's wide enough to almost freaking old school records...then you'll need to use the smaller one.

So you can see the little CD holder in the pic above and that piece comes off pretty easily so that's what I did cause the harness provided with the panel was too narrow. We used super adhesive glue to hold my panel to the trim around the deck and made it flush with the bottom of the deck.

Leave your wires a little longer so if you need to remove your panel later (like I will when I connect stuff to my two other switches) then there's some slack to do so. While the Ignited switches are a little pricey (est. $25USD) they look like they are worth that much and you can get them with or without LED, although the LED that's on when the switch is turned on is freaking bright as hell and totally cool!

In conclusion...Start Buttons are cool. Krystal Steal is HOT!!! thumbsup And if you want a cheap and relatively functional mod you should get a Start Button...or even some switches (that way when your friends get in your car you can be all like "don't be hitten my switches...beatch!) Haha, it's late and I need sleep. I'm taking apart the console after the weekend to do some more stuff so I'll take more detailed pics then if anyone has more questions, let me know. Have fun!

looks awsome man, i plan on getting all those items, i might get the puge button instead of the push ignition though.

i was wandering though, can you still crank up the car with the key or do have to put in the key and push the button.

those switches are badass, those are the ones i want, but i will have to have more, cars looking great to man thumbsup

oh, one last thing, you are right, Krystal steal is so HOT!!!

You need to turn the key twice in the ignition - once to unlock the steering (duh) and second to to the ACC setting so there is ignition power...then you push the button. Because you are only splicing into your ignition you can start the car as before and not use the button if you prefer.

ebay.
amazon.

might also try googling your request for ideas specific to your custom project on the retail end. a speed shop could fabricate the project for you based on their rates and what you want to spend on it.

Thank you, I've been trying to find a start button kit that won't need to use the key to start, but so far the ones I come across needs the key in order for the car to start.
