Before I took the car in I tried my best to put the stock airbox back in. There were a few hoses missing so I just left it like that. So the service guy called me yesterday and tells me the engine is completely destroyed cry. Then he calls me again this morning and tells me that it would be $5000 and that they knew that I was racing(which I wasn't) but that they would fix it under a goodwill warranty and it would be about a week. They said that because it was on goodwill warranty that they couldn't get me a rental car so I'm without a car for a week angry.

Throw a fit, talk to the service manager, talk to the owner of the dealership, do what you gotta do.. that is some B.S.

Unless they have some sort of proof that you were racing they should keep their mouths shut.

To tell you the truth the people that bitch and complain and cause a scene at a store or dealership always get there way. so if you really want a car go in there throw a fit and start to cry and scream and complain. then most of the time you get your way. Im not saying ive done this but ive just noticed that when im at the dealer getting parts for my car, and some guy/girl is crying is because they are not getting there way.

well, since they're going to fix it under "goodwill," which saves you $5000, it's ok to be out of a car for a week.

Consider yourself lucky.

they don't have to cover anything. They could tell you to go fuck yourself, and make you get a lawyer file a lawsuit, and threaten Toyota Corporate, THEN do the work.

Trust me, I did just that.

It had been a long time since I tried going fast on my car so I went all out to remember how it felt to go over 80 mph.
Guess I should have tried harder to remember grin.

Now that sir is customer service.

You... "Can you fix my engine for me?"

Them. "that depends, can you go fuck yourself"

You... "Yeah, but how is that going to help?"

that is crap. i just got mine back from a goodwill warrenty, they are going to update ur tranny too, buy a trd clutch and find a lightweight flywheel now, they will put it in free. They did for me i guess. They will give you a renta pile, they make the same amount of money, its not like they are working for free. The goodwill warrenty also states that you get a brand new short block, not yours rebuilt. make sure this all applies. It wont take them a week either. Mine was 2 days short of a month to get done. Enjoy the wait because when you get your celica back, you think you are getting a new car. But the power of a new motor instead of a worn out one is great!!

well the celica got towed in to toyota for the 3rd time today. It overheats in minutes and has no heat. Also the heat knob wont turn to defrost. Its getting old, in the 3 months ive had my car, its spent 6 weeks in the shop!

Shouldn't take longer than a week to drop a new engine in and hook it all up. Your BF might have had his engine rebuilt or they might have been waiting for a new engine to arrive if they didn't have one already. Depends on where you take your car. It will generally take longer if you take it to a shop that doesn't specialize in your Make.

Goodwill warranty is when the car is off of warranty or you modified the car in some way to void warranty, but Toyota Warranty decides to practice 'good will' and help you out. Most common when the same problem is occuring to the same model of vehicle (like a campaign or a technical service bulletin). If your vehicle is off warranty, they may do the T.S.B. for you free of charge still under 'goodwill warranty'.
