I know it's been a repost repost repost repost

What's the problem with the 1.8 liter supercharger? It can't fit right under the hood of the celi?

By going to TRD's site and looking at...
http://www.toyota.com/toyota/vehicles/sema/widebody.jsp
then clicking on the link to view the details and the pictures...

I know this car is a GT (VVT-i) because I saw it when it was fully stock and then in stages during it's transformation (and also simply by looking at it's detail PDF page) But if you look at the photos of the engine bay, thats NOT the same car - they show GTS (VVTL-i), and AEM intake, not the SC confused

Im sure this confuses the heck out of many people...

it doesn't fit under the Celica's hood...

so the pic you see above...that celica has a larger hood..it was modded to make it fit...

so you can't really get the supercharger

so...is the only thing that keeps the supercharger from going on a celica is the hood. if someone does the supercharger then we should all pich in on the new hood

well, an article in a generic auto mag reviewed the martrix with a trd supercharger and it only bumped the hp to about 160. even this "family" mag stated the power was really understated. the news confirmed my opinions of toyota. unless they update the celica or bring back the supra (or even make something sportier) they seem preoccupied with economy and environmentally friendly cars like the scion or prius. don't get me wrong, saving the planet and affordability is cool and all that but toyota is obviously behind in the sport car race. thumbsdown

Toyota is the third largest auto maker, they're bread & butter is the Camry. Aslong as it sells well, they're not gonna join the hp war, but I have heard that they're thinking about making an "exotic" that will compete against the Honda NSX. I also read some where that you can get optional injectors that will create an intercooler effect, so that you can increase the boost & get more hp.

^ Hey, the battery tie down came in today & it's lighter than the stock piece. And it matches my strut bar, so no need to powdercoat it thumbsup

Nice, bro... glad you got it. Do you have a Hypermotive front strut bar as well or you just mean the color matches?

I have the Tanabe front strut bar, I was sursprised that it matches really well.

Yeah, the hood is the only thing that has to be modified. I've been messing around with some designs 'cuz I'll probably have the TRD s/c late next yr.
