Hey, I'm trying to install my new head unit on my GT, but am having trouble removing the center console to actually remove the factory unit. Anybody have any help on how to do this?

first pull out shifter area piece...then there will be 2 screws at the bottom of the top console(underneath the ac controls)... then after that pull off knobs to ac controls and theres 2 other screws after that pull out the console...really simple...then for the head unit this just held in by screws cake!

have you checked the install guides? they helped me when i was installing my new head unit in my gt. You must pull up on the plastic piece just past the lock button and window switches. once you pull that up you will see how it comes apart, to remove that the easiest way is to pull the hand break, and move the shifter from Park to drive or 2 or L, with the engine in on, but not started. Look in the install guide for the rest of the information...Did you buy a toyota harness adapter? you will want one of those for an easier install...

alright guys, thanks for the help but I'm still having some trouble. Here is a picture of where I'm at, I got all the screws out except for the ones at the bottom of the top console (underneath the ac controls) I'm having trouble finding them.

there is no need to take apart the glove box, i thought i had to my first time too, but i was wrong, just put it back together and put that back in place. Nor can you enter from the side panel in the passenger footwell!! you must pull up the plastic peice around the switches for the windows and locks, you should be able to see that it can come up, you must just pull hard enough, No worrys it just slides back in place...and you must unplug the cig lighter, theres a wire, once you pull up the plastic piece around the shifter and that includes the ashtray and cig ligher
