hey guys i need to know what you guys think. Right now im running on the stock 15' doughnuts and im looking to get a new set of rims. Should i buy 15's to save weight and money on tires or should i save up and get some bigger performance rims and have to pay for bigger tires.

if you race a LOT, stay with 15s and get some really light ones.

otherwise, i personally think the sweet spot for celica rims is 17"--best combo of tires & rims available.

i think 18"s look better, but they are more to keep up (you have to keep your tranny is excellent condition) and tire prices are outrageous.

aweomse. 17s will go great with your car..and the tire prices are more affordable.

could you explain the tranny thing more in detail? coz i have 18's

does that ruin the tranny faster or something?

they don't do that much to your tranny...
it's just more weight added...i don't see how the size of the wheel can make a difference.

I thought as long as the overall size of the wheel and tire doesn't exceed the original wheel and tire size it's fine.

Keep 15" get a drop and lighter weight wheels if really into straight street line racing other than drag racing at a track. With a nice drop the 15" wouldn't look bad at all with not much gap given the tire size. The tires and wheels will be much cheaper than 18" not only lighter. On the corners you might lose a little. Personally, I would go with 17" 7-8 as said previously, light weight is key, and some good low pro. tires to get the best performance all around, nothing bigger.

should i drop it first or get the rims first? Im thinking if i drop it first, then get the rims, the new rims might not look right. i have a rmm body kit and if i do drop it first, im thinking trd springs would work well. what do you guys think?
