i had my trany replaced under warranty on my 2000 gts a while ago...i know the new tranys have a wider shift gate and take different cables.i want to get a trd shifter but someone told me the shifter will not fit on these new tranys..does anyone know if this is true? confused

TRD short shifter will not fit any tranny built after I think May of 2002, so it won't fit yours.

just curious, i've test drove 2000 model celica's and the stick seems very stiff. is that how all the celica's are?

a TRD short shifter WILL fit all 00-current celicas. just with 02-03 you need to take the trd shifter out of its housing and put it into the stock housing.


*2003 Black GT-S 6speed* TRD body kit, HID upgrade, clear corners, Matrix XRS shift knob, 02 tails, trd exhaust, AEM gen 2 CAI, TWM short shifter.

i have a 2003 and it doesn't seem stiff to me, but I never drove a 2000 so idk.

my new trany was pretty stiff at first, after a few months of breaking it in though its perfect. i think most new tranys are stiff at first,especially in a sport setup thumbsup

the 2003 shifters are MUCH smoother than previous years... i felt a 2000 and a 2002 i think, and they are much stiffer than my stock 03 gt...
