Alright, my friend said that he might give me his heat shield for cheap, it just ordered it but doesnt know if he wants it now, whatever the point is, is it really necessary, im not worried about it as far as i dont want to hydrolock, that aint gonna stop it, but as far as rocks or dirt or water here and there getting kicked into it or splased into it, or protecting it from the heat of the engine, is it worth getting, does it take away hp since it goes around the intake filter, let me know, thanks..

well i already figured it aint gonna help from hydrolocking, but im saying as far as small rocks, dirt, and water getting splashed up, will it make that much of a difference to get it, as far as letting it stay cleaner longer. If it aint really important, im gonna go ahead and buy the aem pulleys, but i want to make sure that i wont be stupid by not buying the heat shield/water guard

thats what i figured, and its hidden, so it aint gonna be a big deal if i have someone custom make me one for like 10 bucks, rather then 60. If i really think that i need one after driving it for a while, then ill make one, but i think something like this is more for the short ram, rather then the CAI. ANd for looks also since it sticks out, thanks a lot
