i was on a backroad and i decided to open the car up alittle
i went for my normal 1 -2 shift and i fell out of lift,
thats ok because i have a 2002 gts, but on the 2-3 shift i stayed in lift ( i know this because i not only heard the continuous wale of vvtl-i but the tach went down to about 6300-6500, stayed there and continued to climb) i always thought it was impossible to land in lift on the 1-2 and 2-3 shift in an 02. i was just wondering if anyone else had ever done that
thanx for the replies thumbsup

I thought you fell outta lift during the 1-2 shift? That's the hardest shift to land in my opinion, due to the fact your car hasn't gotten up to speed yet.

i did, and i'll probably never land it on the 1-2 shift, but i thought 02 arent supposed to land lift until the 3-4 shift
i have tried before to land a 1-2 shift in lift ( that rhymed) but always fail
i have also tried to land the 2-3 shift but failed also( i did this while racing my friend in his rsx-s)
this is the first time i ever did it
could there be something wrong with my car confused

no one with an 02 has had this happen to them

dont blame ur car man. you probably got better at shifting. i think its possible, cause a good driver on a 9 gts can shift on 2nd gear going 8300rpm to 3rd landing on 6300rpm around there. so you rev 300less, land 300 less. btw, when you raced the rsx-s, wut rpm did you land into while shifting 2-3. and wut rpms you go down to when you shift from 1-2? 5600rpm?

I've landed the 1-2 in lift on my 02 GTS, no kidding. You probably landed the 2-3 b/c you didn't let off the gas too much and did a quasi-powershift. Nothing's wrong with your car.

actually 600 rpm less regarding your statement.

well, when i raced the type s we started from a second gear roll. as soon as we both punched it ( we were both out of our i-vtec and vvtl-i) i started to pull and when i got to about 7800 i shifted and he took off. i think i dropped to about 6000 or a little less. this was when i just learned how to drive a manual. when i shift from 1-2 i usually land anywhere from 5500 to 5700 and from 2-3 it usually is around the 6000 range, 3-4 i land in lift all the time, and i NEVER race where i have to shift into 5th eek
btw thanx for the responses
