there is a $400 kit at intensepower.com...lemme see if i can get you a link (i'll edit)

EDIT--the 6000k kits are $400, the 8000k HIDs are $550:

i know they used to make some cars with HID's and they may make some now (not sure). in any case personally i think they should be illegal..they are WAY too bright and its a pain looking in your mirrors when an HID kitted car is behind me. thumbsdown

you can get mtecs..not as bright as HIDs, but brighter than stock...and the bulbs usually run for about $30. thumbsup

are they really gonna give you a ticket for HIDs? I think not...they would have to rip ur headlight apart to check spineyes grin thumbsdown

not really...you can just look at them and tell...it's practically blinding

I imagine you can get a ticket for it if you get pulled over for speeding just like you would get a ticket for an aftermarket exhaust, etc.

ditto. i doubt that they would pull you over just for your headlights..but if you do get pulled over for something else they might add it on while they're there.

the only illegal HID kits are the kits not DOT certified and tested.

Buy name brand that are legal and you're fine. HID's are not cheap, you get what you pay for...
if you want the next best thing, buy PIAA bulbs. Some of them are BRIGHT as hell.
