If it's true that the stratford turbo can get the gt to 251 hp to the wheels, is it possible to beat an evo because there's this guy in my neighborhood that has a red evo and everybody thinks he's the shit. So if I beat him, I would be the shit . Do you guys think if I get the SF Turbo, I would have a chance.
I think the Evo would beat you. I say this only going by numbers I read in magazines and I know people here don't want to go by those kind of numbers including myself. I read that a stock Evo can go 0-60 in 4.7 (high 4's) even faster than an STI according to 1 mag. I once read about a 2000 MR2 with a turbo putting 280 whp I believe that went 0-60 in 4.8 to 4.9 sec. You have to take into consideration also on how you are going to put 250+ HP to the ground if on stock tires, clutch, and open differential. I'm not sure though. I would get the turbo and try racing him. Even if you lose I'm sure you will love the turbo. Just don't wager pink slips.
teh gt with teh stafford kit around the hp would have around 220 wtq, so it would be close 1/4 mile i'd go with EVO from a role it would be close but i'd still go with EVO

Main problem you'll have is the launch. Turbos don't offer any help in the very low-end, where the Celi already has problems anyway. Not to mention you'd be launching your FWD against his AWD... another handicap for you. From a rolling start you might have a chance, but it'd likely still go to him.
You'd be running up a pretty big bill to actually be sure to take him. Besides a turbo, exhaust, and short shifter, you'd probably need a good 30-50 shot of nitrous. That's assuming both you can drive.

and no the celica wont beat an evo they are low 13 to high 12 cars and i dont think a turbo kit will take 3 to 4 seconds off the 1/4 mile time and even if you are gonna raise the boost you wont be able to rais it to high unless you have internals , celica isnt in the same class so forget about it

It's interresting, isn't it, that people who drive other types of cars feel the need to come to a CELICA site, and start running their mouths talking shit about our cars? I can't think of a single time that I have ever gone to any other forum and told the people there that their cars are shit. In fact, i have a healthy respect for car entusiasts in general, whether they drive a ZO6 corvette, a rotary powered Mazda RX-7, a SUBARU, an evo, a celica, or any other car ever produced! I have my own personal taste in cars, but i have the SAME passion about my car that every other car enthusiast has about their particular car. I don't understand why people have to have to try to put other people down to feeel better about themselves, especially when they are really quite similar in their interrests!

the stock wrx puts down as much HP as the stock GTS, and the GTS weighs 500+ lbs less, so after the GTS overcomes the WRX's launch (which most drivers can't do, anyways) it's bye bye WRX

a Wrx with a good driver runs low 14s a gts with a good driver runs mid to high 14s so the GTS isn't that much slower than a turboed AWD car.. but on highway the GTS is pretty even with the WRX
