yeah better safe than sorry. put them hoodpins on. however i was at the shop with my friend who was ordering his Carbon Fiber hood, and the guy told us that there are only about 2 out 80 cars that he's sold Carbon Fiber hoods to that have flown off. so i'm guessing it's not likely unless you're like gunning it on the highway... 1 out of 40? No thanks, not worth it.

No thanks, not worth it. yeah, those are bad odds i dont like 1 out of 100 personally. i know risk is valued differently person to person (which is why i don't play the lotto--but millions do) but lets say your chance out of winning a raffel was 1 out of 40 and all you had to pay was $5...i know i'd jump on it, and i presume almost every else would to (up to 40 people obviously). turn that around and say you have a 1 out of 40 chance of getting your hood ripped off (if you would have jumped at the raffel offer, then you're one of the ones that shouldnt ride around without hoodpins). but it is (imo) DEFINATELY worth mentioning that if your hood flies up (and maybe even off) it's not just your hood you should be worrying about. those hoods CAN be ripped off by the wind and if it does, it CAN hit another car and that will most probably cause an accident and then all you can do is hope that no one winds up being killed. it's more than just a carbon fiber hood being held down over your engine..its about safety.
