Although Swedish manufacturer Koenigsegg has been highly praised for its CC8S supercar, the firm isn't resting on its laurels.
It claims its new version will be the fastest production car ever, with a top speed of over 242mph.
Called the CCR, it uses the same supercharged 4.7-litre V8 as the CC8S, but has been tuned to produce 806bhp instead of 655bhp. The CCR has a 0-60mph sprint time of 3.2 seconds - 0.3 seconds quicker than its sibling. If the top speed is confirmed, the newcomer will beat the current record holder, the McLaren F1

i know you've heard of the buatti veyron (you just posted about it a minute ago) it's just about to be released (for almost the 2nd time--tranny problems hindered the initial release date).
252 mph, 2.9 spring in 0-60. quadturbo w16.
not to take anyting away from koenigsegg..they've made a name for themselves with the power their cars produce...and probably more noticeable the doors their cars have (cointe koenigsegg doors)

notice how low the doors are to the ground when open. these are swung upwards like this and it's an important distinction between lambo doors.
the only real advantage over lambo doors (besides style) is that if in a hypothetical situation you were parked in a structure that had a roof hardly bigger than the top of the koenigsegg itself, its doors could still open & allow you to get out. (they don't go up nearly as high as a lambo door)

my question is... WTF kind of tires are there that can handle 250 mph and be "normal" enough to drive on the road?
it woudl have to be like ZZZ rated or something.

The McLaren F1 accelerates to 200mph in 28 seconds. The CC8S takes 35.5 seconds. I think they're still a long way off. Some say the McLaren will never be beaten. Not bad for a ten year old N/A car!!!!! Thats BMW Power for you though.

You may want to rethink this one. Check out the Chrysler Me 4 12 [ engine-power.com] ![[Linked Image from engine-power.com]](http://www.engine-power.com/img/specs/chrysler_me_four-twelve_concept_02.jpg)

Why spend a million dollars on a car when you can't drive 250mph on the street. I don't even drive above 85mph on the freeway. It just seems like a waste of money.

Damn, I got beat in posting about the Chrysler. 0-60 in 2.9 seconds.
As for the Mclaren, hasn't it already been beat? The Enzo runs faster in every 0-60 and 1/4 test that I've seen. Haven't seen a 0-200 MPH comparison though.
But yeah, if I had a million bux, I couldn't buy one of these "supercars". Instead it'd just be:
360 Modena GT2 SL55 AMG ZO6 Vette S2000 Audi S4 Porsche Cayenne S
I'm just a crosshair I'm just a shot away from you

Look at the writting on the wall by that car...
Gotta love those oil sheiks. They live in complete wealth, everyone else gets nothing.
Sweet car, though.

it's very much a concept and there is virtually no chance of that particular concept ever being made. it's an example of what chrysler CAN do (not will). although chrysler has been trying to move its market upscale, this concept represents too much of a broad jump and it's many years away (if at all) makes cars even somewhat similar to the concept in both terms of technology & power.

Because while everyone around you is sitting in their ferraris, lamborghinis, hooked up imports, or whatever...you're still sitting in your $1.3 million Mclaren f-1. Because people look at your car, their mouths drop open and they mutter with what breathe they have left "damn!" Because it's sexy as hell. Besides, if you have the money, WHY NOT?

I think the award has to go to the MG X Power though.
The car comes in various forms. Bottom of the range is the 326bhp model, powered by a Ford Mustang engine. Then theres a 410bhp model and top of the range is a 965bhp model with factory approved nitrous oxide kits!!!!!!!
It may not have cracked a 1000bhp, but its got NOS for fucks sake!
