I saw a silver Firebird the other day with NICE flames going up the hood. My celica is carbon blue/black...whatever the sun wants it to look like and I thought about putting flames on like that. I would do diff. tones of red!
Hey its your car... do what you want, that is the whole point in modding your car. To get it how you want it.
Yeah, I agree. I happen to think if done properly, flames can look sweet. I loved the flames they did on the monster garage celica. But just dont get it done cheesily (that aint a word is it? )
a person's car should reflect the way they feel about it. thats what makes customiation truly customized. however, in search of your 'perfect car' it would be ignorant not to take into concept other people's opinions (a main point of customization is to be pleasing to others eyes--not just your own eyes, although that is important).
so i do agree with the people who say "do what you want" but if 'what you want' is to have people compliment you on your car (which is probably true), then please leave the flames alone. some people like them, most people don't.

I dont know i think it could be nice. Dont make it a different color but maybe a lighter blue. So its visible but doesnt take away from the car and make it tacky.
remember, your car is an extension of your personality, and customizing it is supposed to be something showing people a part of what your'e into...if you're into flames, then go for it...but if I were you (carbon blue celica) I'd look into GHOST FLAMES being painted, rather than some vinyl number...I think ghost flames would look real good if done right
Do not forget to have a bigh sing on each side of your celica - "Flamer"... . . Flames on selica=Gay P.S. More IDIOTIC-GAY cars you see on the roads it's makes your car looks better next to it. P.P.S. Go for it! You will make OUR cars looks better...
i have mixed feelings about the flames. i think on some cars they look kick ass but on some they dont... it all depends on what kind of flames and where they are at on the car... but think of your car as your own art work and what you see in your eyes will end up on your car. dont let anyone tell you different. go with what you want

If you want good looking flames on the Celica I strongly suggest the "ghost flame" look, which is pretty much a ghost image of flames (usually white/greyish apperal) that will show up in accordance to the light and angle you look at it on.
It would look vastly better than colored flames.

if you want flames on your car, go for it. It's your car, don't let anyone tell you how it should look. I do think though, (having a carbon blue celi myself) that red would be a bad choice. If you're going to do it, do yourself a favor, go to a paint shop and research the different colors/effects that are available. The other thing i would recommend is that you expect to pay a lot, and take it to a good airbrush artist who will do a good, artistic job, rather than just cookie-cutter flames. If you were to do, say a pearlescent blue and silver flame over the carbon blue, it could look sexy as hell. I was thinking about doing a pearlescent ghost-storm on the side of my car, with clouds rolling off my front tires, and lightning striking the back wheels... i would do it very in a very subtle way though, so it would only stand out in the right light.
i think the flames are a neat idea, but i wouldnt put red flames on them.
i also have a carbon blue celi. if i were to put some type of decal or paint something else onto my car, it would prolly either be blue (like a darker blue) or something that would match and flow better.
