I dont' think strut bars are for looks. they can be very useful and dangerous at the same time. i have the RMM and TRD strut bars. I notice that my car handles very well in dry conditions when i takes curves fast and swerve.but strut bars can be dangerous in rain, i remember hearing from a race mechanic that it can cause you to hydroplane easier and lose grip easier.
oh and to answer the question i would go with the tanabe, it'll preform the same and i've heard some really good reviews about it. Tanabe has a reputation from being reasonably priced.
I have the Tanabe and I love it. I choose it over Hypermotive because it's a product of Japan. I just think that since we have Japanese cars, we should put Japanese parts on them.
funny logic there steven, I'd listen to steven though. Basically the two strut bars will perform the same. both have to be the same measurement in order to fit into the celi, and both are strong enough to no break apart in hard cornering. you're just paying for the technology. Hypermotive has a polish finish, with CNC machineing and precision drilling for weight reduction. the Tanabe uses a cheaper but just as effective technology, a hollow bar.
RMM has welded endplates, which are not as strong if they were boldted on, like Tanabe & Hypermotive. Go with Tanabe 'cuz you can powder coat the endplates, which will make it look better, it's half the price, and it's made in Japan. I agree with Steven, when possible, put Japanese parts on your car
I had a RMM strut bar before my Tanabe Sustec. The Performance was exactly the same. They both made for SHARP crisp turns. That's about all they're good for because they're only effective when the body twists.

me 2...i have RMM right now, but I want to get tanabe because the fitment is a bit different.
