I ordered stickers to place over the paint. The light doesnt show through them or anything. You could try putting them on, then paint over, and remove so theres still light showing. In general, when the center console is painted it seems way too bright and odd because of the dull grey dash and I've only ever seen a few that look like a bit more natural. The stock stereo sure is ghastly on the Celica though.. it's like some heap from the 70's or 80's. It would be nice to have the entire dash board and such to be a darker color, like charcoal grey and this way it would match better with the leather interior, wheel & shift knob.
