A lot of people like our car seats and some dont believe it came with the car stock. Our seats looks like racing type ones and i love it. thumbsup

instead of buying Recaro, Sparco or Bride aftermarket seats i am going to reupholster the stock ones with Blue and black color scheme, black in the middle. I know some will say buy the Recaro or Sparco or Bride! , my answer is NAH, im gonna reupholster my seats ok? thumbsup

I went to the installs and check how to do it, Click Here to check it out, the pictures are clear but i need some info on how to disable the Side Impact Airbag, and Isaac , how did you get it reupholstered?, i saw the zipper behind the seats, do i just unzip this all the way and take it out? how hard is it to take out?

if any of you have done this, please let me know cheers

I'd like to know, also!

I've hated the leather in my car since I bought it, and I would like to change it to cloth.

to disable the side impact bags, just unplug the connection from under the seats... simple as that

mine are disabled... heck - mine were NEVER enabled rofl

the seats I got were from a trade...

He had the seats done at Carkraft in Southern California, then a while later was sponsored these seats...

and we traded my stock red/black cloth and I got these seats...

...please disregard the seat grills - it was a project that I had been working on

Any ideas of HOW to get the fabric made?

Is there a pattern or anything I could find, I'd rather have my gf make it for me, than pay some shop $hundreds

thanks for the tip, I'm going to check on ebay.

$400 to redo them is a bit much, as the leather is in GREAT shape, it's just very HOT in the summer smile

For your Reupholsering information: The soft material that Sparco uses is called "Jacquard" polyester.

400 is a lot to have your seats redone but think if you got sparcos it would cost about 1400.

Would 2002 GT cloth seats work in a 2000 GTS and vice versa?

My dad hates his cloth and wants my leather, and I hate my leather and want his cloth.

Is it ok to swap them?

Install is easy - only four bolts and they are in obvious locations thumbsup
https://celicahobby.com/gal3/inst_seats

Just realise that GT seats do NOT come with side impact airbags... so if you swap, you will be loosing that feature.

putting GT into GTS - just leave that floor connection unplugged... putting GTS into GT - just leave seat connection unplugged spineyes

okay from what i have read, the GT seats will lose the feature of side impact airbags because the lack of one wire connected to the seats. But what about the GTS? I bought a white gts 2002 with non leather leats (cloth), so does anyone know if if i will lose that feature if i swap a seat with side impact airbags? I know that the leather seats has to connection wires. From the pictures I've seen above from the link, it is clear that a GT only has one connection plug. What about for a GTS? I'm sure one of you guys out of the whole board got this answer. thanks a lot. The worst thing that could happen is going to the dealer to have that special wiring thumbsdown, but the problem is how much?? confused

There was this guy in Ebay that was selling them. They are brand new. It's the same leather covers used by Toyota. I believe this guy worked in Toyota or something like that. I got it for $300 Shipped. I just tried looking for him but he doesn't have them on Ebay but keep on looking because he puts them up every now and then.
