I bought bats kit but got frustrated so i jus decided to paint it...here are some pix

Its cool. Is it goin to pass inspection? What kind of paint is it? What was wrong w/bats overlays.

I bought the paint at a hobby shop. I think its by testors and its called window tint. They come in black or cherry red...

i have asked someone from here das got tinted lights and he said that he asked a cop before and he said as long as it shines through.

But about bats...i jus didnt have enough patience with the cutting, etc. Well it is cut but have to do a lil trimming so i jus gave up. hahaha

testor are great..but pricey for a lil can..i use that to redout my taillight..

^^^^ yea they are, a lil less than $5 for a lil can. Almost ran out on the 2nd brake lights but had jus about enough left...

well i still have plenty of red left..ur car look good by the way..what exhaust is that??

haha i also bought a red one. thought i would tint it red at first but i have to 03 version so the reverse lights will be covered if i paint it. So i decided to go black.

its a tanabe...dont kno which kind tho. im thinkin of gettin another one tho

click on exhaust then cat back systems. It's the one on top N-1 Extreme. I kno celica isnt there but i have a friend that knows someone der and said the one for the celica jus came out today...

Testors is a no-no. Unless they changed their formula? It looks great. How did you apply it and seal it? It probably will fade and turn to shit unless the paint said UV protectant. There's no going back on this either.

looks ok, although if I was going for the dark look I'd have gotten the TYC black's

uv protectant ??? i know wat you mean. Overtime they get all flat and rough rite?? does the uv protectant protect from doin that??? i asked the guy at the hobby shop if there are any clear coat i can apply so it wont do that but he said no...

where can i get that uv protectant??

OR...Wat if i get a clear coat paint the same one they use for the body, will that work or is it too strong for plastic???

^ yeah, it sticks out too much, or, you can trade it & make some $. there's quite a few people who want that piece.

dude go hit ur brake pedal with an umbrella or a baseball bat to get it to stick... then take a few pictures with the lenses lit up... i want to see them lit up...

looks good you should have used the vht niteshades its expensive (13.00) for a can but its only use is to tint taillenses so I guess it will give you that uv protection i used it for my bumper lenses.

Sorry but I'm sorta lost. Did you paint the reflector parts or did you paint the actual casing? If your painted the casin, did you paint the outside, or did you take apart the light & paint the inside? Thanks

one question...does the hatch handle always come chrome on all the celica's ?????

Also, is it possible to take apart brake lights and paint the actual pieces like you do the headlights? I bought some black Altezzas with some chrome lining long ago with the idea that I was going to get chrome rims. After deciding on opal rims instead I now want to get rid of the chrome.

I was thinking of doing the same thing this guy did, but thought it may be cooler to paint the inside pieces of the taillight that are chrome black instead. This would make them dark but also give them a 3-d look. Although I wouldn't be able to paint the red brake light black and that may look sorta strange (a red dot in the middle of a blacked out headlight. Back to the drawing board.

i "think" you are able to paint the inside...not 100% sure though...

Where do you get that from??? I just bought some clear coat last nite and i will paint them again tonite.

damn alrite guys i jus applied two coats of clear coat on my tails and also paint the chrome trunk handle. It was a B**** because i didnt kno that there was a layer of plastic on top. So wen i started to paint it black the plastic started to melt. hahah good thing i was able to take them off... here is the before pic...
