I don't think they will be as fast as everyone thinks.

http://www.teamnabr.com/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=8

Used that calculator and it says 0-60 in 4.6 seconds. same as the new elise is rated at.

I don't think they'll do better then mid 13's stock.

^^True. If it runs mid 13's stock, think about what it'll run after it's modded. thumbsup

actually i question their drivers if they can only squeeze out 15.4 on a stock GTS when illusive and lucky were pulling out 14.7 fully stock!...that's too large of a gap for me... spineyes

Exactly.

And if they can't drive the Celica to its full potential, then how could they drive the Elise to its?

I'd say that they could hit high 12's stock if they are being tested at low 13's.

just saw C&D lol

they show 4.4 0-60

13.2 @ 104 eek

I think 12's ARE possible stock. found out something very interesting.

they always shift at redline which C&D labled as 6600 rpms.

however it's peak power is made at 7800 rpms. thats a whole 1K worth of rpms they arent using?? very strange. If that is the case there will be lots of 12.9 - 12.8 stock lotus's.

however top end sux smile

I was just thinkin bout the elise so I posted. lol

plus I was playing with the 0-60 thing and was shocked I was at 4.6 cause I was guessing 4.8. lol grin

hmmm. So If I can get my car down to 2,000 lbs I could run 12's right now smile rofl

Do you think Lotus designed this car with DRAG RACING in mind? NO.

It's a circuit car, and frankly, i don't care what it does on the 1/4 mile.

1.02 g's stock!? eek

All we have to buy are coilovers, sway bars, and braces to pull 1G & we're still be half as expensive as the Elise, but get the same handleling.

^^^???? Elise is 1.06G's stock. Right now, your car is half the price. once you put enough crap to boost your suspension to anything repectful, the Elise will still be fast enough to tool your arse all the way around the track.

Steve's right. The Lotus Elise is a track car not for idiots that only know how to race in a straight line like those dick heads off the fast and the furious. Out on the road the Elise will be leaving a Celica in its dust, no matter how many mods its got. I don't think a set of coilovers and sway bars is going to even come close to matching the chassis of the Elise, which is one of the best in the world.

"I don't think they will be as fast as everyone thinks."

Wakey wakey! They've been in production now for a good few months and the car has already proved itself as a very fast track and road car, straight line speed and cornering ability. Its quicker than a VX220 Turbo around the track!!!!! Say no more. I also have enough confidence in Lotus' engine management experience to say that no Elise owner will be purchasing a PFC. HA HA HA HA!

Top end doesn't suck. Its 10mph faster than a stock GTS. The Exige is only 7mph faster but thats thanks to 100kg of downforce at 100mph being produced by its spolier.

This thread is totally uneccessary. Should be closed IMO. Maybe whoever started it should have done a little bit more research before posting thoughtless opinions.

Nicely said Veilside_300. The Elise is a fast car no matter what. It will beat the celica at any game because of its power-to-weight ratio.

Bottom line: The Elise is a circuit car and not a drag racing car.
