here are some pictures, i initially did this install on monday. the piping looked good but because of the long tubing after the muffler i was being robbed of sound and most importantly power. i was going to post pics up yesterday but everythingcelica.com was down so here i am posting pics of what this system looked like on monday and up until tuesdayafternoon. I jacked my car up and got to cutting w/ a grinder the piping from the exit of the exauhst up till the y bend in the piping. i dont know if the bends was what was killing the power but i felt so stupid paying money to lose power. so the sound is coming from the middle of the car which in all reality sounnds real nice!!!! i get a real deep roar w/ no rice sound and i actually feel the car a little bit quicker than before. tell me what you guys think, i know its kinda wierd to have both of the pipes coming out of the back be dummie pipes for now. later on i plan on getting a muffler that fits this setup better. i just gotta do my hw on what to buy. for now though i am happy with this setup, looks real nice from behind.

no i didnt dyno it, i want to but i havnt looked into shops that do that stuff, and i dont know how much it runs. but i definitly do feel a difference in power before i did anything, after the welding and now that i took the grinder to the bends and let the exauhst come out from the middle it feels quicker than ever thumbsup

well who cares how the welds look, its under the car... not really a place where looks are the most important. under the car all i really care about is whether it works or not. and em about the tips no one has even looked at my question ...

He's right you know, that rough welding and the crush bends are doing NOTHING for your exhaust flow- neither is having the muffler so far removed. Definetly needs some tips, but I would have just gone dual muffler. That split point is causing major backpressure probably- and backpressure AFTER the muffler is a very bad idea.

Dual Exhaust does not cause HP loss in theory. What it can lead to is a lack of pressure needed for gas scavenging to take place, which can lead to the celica feeling bogged down low in the RPMs.

Done right, dual exhaust presents the car with the ability to handle a large amount of exhaust gases with minimal loss in gas scavenging pressure- unfortunately, problems like bad welds, too many bends, piping circumference not calculated before and after the split point; all these things add up to duals, more often that not, stealing hp away from a car than giving it. Finally, a 4 banger usually doesn't generate the sheer volume of gas pressure needed to make dual exhaust a really viable option.

Also, because the nature of dual exhaust system is that it's usually not done by professionals, you get more exhaust gases coming out of pipe than the other. THis looks really shitty at night and it's usually because the pipe is split after the tail box, so the gas is forced down one or the other channel (again, possibly increased by crushed bends or crummy welding). And again, because it's a none professional job, the pipes are going to be of different lengths, so it will take longer to come out of one pipe.

i agree totally, i think i wrote something in about loss of power because of the bends and added piping after the work done to the exauhst. i dont think anyone read it. any wayz, i jacked the car up @ home because i was killing myself because i lost power and took a grinder to the pipes. i cut the piping from the exit of the muffler to the begining of the "y" split. and now the exauhst is louder than before (or maybe its just because its closer to me) and i feel that there is more throttle response even than before i did any of this dual exauhst stuff. it sounds nice now, but i am still going to see what the best way to do this duals would be... it kind of seems like morris has the best idea, so all i would need to do is buy 2 little tin cans and stick em at each exit...and about the bumper...i know its rice but then again, little by little its all gonna work out.

Those are the worst welds ever. Don't like the dual exhaust idea either, lil' 4 bangers don't need it. I don't like altezza lights either, so you can't talk crap to me smile

If you're happy with it, I'm happy for you, and I'm sure it'll look pretty cool once you get those tips on.

i havnt been here that long but i know an idiot when i see one, why are you picking fights with people after 40 posts? you think i cant talk crap to you noob? why dont you post some pictures of your bad ass ride and show how cool you really are, and by the way, i wasnt talking crap about his altezza lights, i was making a point on how different people have different tastes. you sound like an idiot to me and with the kind of comments you give dont ve surprised if sooner or later most people in these forums think the same. about needing things...4 bangers dont "need" many things we do to them, but people mod their cars to their own liking because they like it. and yes i posted up to see what everyone thought. and yeah i respect your opinion about how you like it but you sound like a little kid when you say i cant talk crap about you... if i ever ask for everyones opinion...make sure you leave your out because i dont care what you think ok noob

just wondering, how many people here that posted about how ugly the welds looks have experiance welding, or know that they have gotten their exauhst welded and the welds look sooo much nicer. i had seen many jobs done before and they always looked like the ones on my car. i thought it was just the kind of welder that they were using that made the welds look like that. keep in mind i am not saying that you guys dont know what you are talking about, but i am curious as to know what nice exauhst welds look like.

i'm not a fan of dual exhausts but they are a good APPEARANCE mod. and yes power is lost unless one of the tips are a dummy and then it's only a matter of weight gain.

but face it..lambo doors add weight so before ppl start trashing duals as 'dead weight' thats just something to keep in mind.

that said (and no offence)...but it looks like you used fence posts for ur piping.

but, thats just my opinion. i'm a big beleive in that a person's car should reflect the way they feel about it. if it came out the exact way you wanted it to come out..then it's all good thumbsup

i have a friend @ autozone...instead of paying like 25 bucks a tip, i got 2 for 15 bucks...they actually have nice ones there if you dont mind them being screw on instead of welded. either way, its not like people get on their knees to see if the tips are welded or screwed on. So, better now? even though a lot of you guys dont like duals, i think it looks pimp. (aside from the primered bumper
