Well ... if you didnt get it from the title...

I made a custom suede door panel insert, blue obviously. And the best part is... it matches my shift knob perfectly!!!! grin

^ It's really easy. You just cut out a piece of suede in the shape of the panel and then you get something really flat, like a flat screwdriver, and you just tuck it in. It should only take 5-10 mins to do, depending how "nice" you want it to look.

What she siad, cept I used a butter knife to tuck it in. And if you do it i suggest you buy a LOT more matieral than you need. About 3x more, just in case you dont get the fitament (spelling?) right the first time. I cut it out about 3 times to get that fit. it deff looks more pimp now thumbsup i love it.

I was wondering if the suede would get dirty and messed up really quick, would you want to use a micro suede insted. Also, can you coat that stuff with a protectent so that it doesn't get messed up.

If you cant get the fitment right, like i had to cut out like 5 panels, I eventually took that little seciton out of the door, then since it was free, scretched the fabric and tacked it on the back, looks just as nice as his

I just tucked it in smile its not going anywhere for a while. i didnt want to glue it in, cause what if it wears and or fades or gets stained or something? (god forbid!)

but ive got plenty of extra fabric to make at least 6 more pairs of inserts, so im set! grin

Oh btw, the shift knob looks lighter than it is because the door panel is in the shade and the knob is in the sunlight. But believe me, it matches PERFECTLY

Looks great. Ichiban is kinda ricey but their shift knobs are cool, my friend has an Ichiban shift knob in his Camaro and it looks cool. Just don't buy too much of their stuff, or put their decal on you window, like my friend with the Camaro did... rofl

LMAO rofl rofl

I agree one hundred percent on the ricey-ness of ichibahn, but I REALLY liked this shift knob. Its the only other one besides the MOMO F-16 EVO knob in blue that really stood out to me. thumbsup So I just bit the bullet and got it. The only other way I would switch it is if I could get the MOMO.

I'm not even sure, its this "stretchy" cloth stuff, I bought it thinking it would be easy to work with, since in stretches. I grabbed a huge sheet of it down at Jo-Ann Fabrics.

Did you remove the panel first or did you just put the fabric over it and trace out the design?

Did you remove the the cloth or leather the was originally there or did you just put the fabric over it?

I'm gonna take your little Civic. Dust it off. Turn it sideways and stick it straight up you candy A*s.
