Which is the best car alarm system out there!...Does toyota dealer installs them when you buy a new celica from them?...

Viper alarms are really good but as for the other question im not sure i think its an option.

Viper alarm and i dont think toyota would install an aftermarket alarm. Take it to an electronics store or if your really cant find anywhere best buy or circuit city should be able to install it.

Clifford is sweet.

Clifford and Viper are made by the same company, DEI (directed electronics) The nice thing about the clifford is that there is only 1 chip inside the remote, instead of two. My cousins boyfriend installs for best buy, and he said that when people drop them, sometimes it will crack right between the two chips.


I work at circuit city, and i know that we sell the viper.

mine is in my sig.

i got viper myself. Mine locks your doors automatically which can be a pain in the ass if your keys are still in the car. I like it though. It has the chirp when you lock and unlock the car. so viper is a good choice in my opinion.

it cost me a little bit over than 700.00 but that was including the motion sensor and the back up battery.

I'm looking for a basic bare bones one, that will detect people breaking shit and hitting my car with bats and shit. my car alarm right now goes off whenever someone slams a car door next to it, or someone has a loud exhaust and rolls by or someone goes by thumpin' their system. it SUX!

sorry i had to look for the receipts:
427.99 for the alarm( including tax).
42.79 for the back up battery. ( including tax).
65.67 for the install plus rewire and removal of the old alarm system.
motion sensor( i cannot find the receipt.
total around 720.00 730.00

wow, mine was like 250, no wonder it sucks... lol

u just need to adjust the sensitivity that's all. the good thing about the clifford is that it pages you once somebody is messing with the car. also it has a wide range . it really works good and is reliable.

ah by the way i got it when they just came out the clifford 2.5x matrix. they were on a promotion at that time. i believe they were discontinuing the old ones and had just rec'd the new ones.

Also had Uno made by Orion , bought it in Canada for my Prelude. Now that was awesome

Not True. The day I bought my Celica, the Toyota salesman offered me an aftermarket Pursuit system that they installed for about $300. Its a 3 button remote system with dual stage shock sensor. It does the job. Check reviews section for more info.

You can take it to Toyota, but its gonna be expensive.

Viper is the best one out there! I've installed many alarms in my time and they out perform any of the other models out there. I hate Clifford(my opinion) even though DEI(Viper) bought them out. There is a reason DEI bought Clifford. Because Clifford on it's own sucked! The new Clifford matrix systems rock only because DEI took over the manufacturing of them and made them better. I only say this because I used to install alarms and so on proffesionally. Cliffords wiring was a joke! DEI wiring is much more user friendly. Plus the add on stuff is way more flexible. My car has a Viper 791XV w/ 4 sirens, backup battery, remote start, trunk open control, my underbody neons are controlled by my remote and the add on ability is endless...

But that was an option the dealer offered you. I dont think they would do it if you took them an alarm in a box and asked them to install it. I guess it all depends on the dealership but they wouldnt do it around here.

400 total for python alrm/starter...on my last car..figure it would be the same if i get it.

I have the Valet 554r, remote start made by (directed electronics) really good reliable as hell, already save my car once , i love it.
