Watch those sales guys, if they know you want it they will not give you a deal. Wait a few days and then come back and you will get a deal.
Even better when you test drive it, leave and come back latter. Go for a walk around the lot, better yet leave for a bite and then come back and ask what there best price is out the door. If you don't like it leave go somewhere else. If they can work with the price they will try to keep you from leaving.
Research the TMV true market value. Also never pay that sticker price, that is usually a 6K profit for them. I wish I could find a local used TC for 15K but not to likely, looked and looked, Probably find it after I buy this one, lol.
Plus of course this forum has helped greatly, learned a lot and very grateful for that. Before I looked at this forum, I knew little about Celica's. Now I'm learning daily.
I have to tell you,I hate sales reps, most are scum, but not all. I had one rep insist I came down to test drive a car or he wouldn't give me any info. Oh so I did, lol and I drove it for 150 miles 3 hours, they where starting to get worried.
He never even asked for identification or anything, he just gave me the keys. So I went driving in the mountains. Brought it back and left. I never returned and that's how I treat those pushy sales reps.
Protect yourself, and if it's not a good deal, forget it. Something else will always come along. Remain calm even if you are dead set on that car. My friend made a major mistake when he was shopping for his Mustang Cobra, he paid 5K over what he should have. He found one with less miles two days later for 5K less. He was pissed. Don't trust those sales reps ever.
I'm thinking of paying cash up front that will save me thousands on the back end. Plus it would be nice to buy something outright.
Never tell the rep that, they want the interest so keep that to yourself until your ready to sign the paperwork, I can tell you
www.edmunds.com [
edmunds.com] is a great site for information. I watched hours of videos and printed out tons of guides. Plus I love this forum, the best one yet.
I have been looking for this TC/AC since April, I think I waited long enough now.
BTW: I put a deposit on the TC, that does not make me obligated, just takes it off the market until I come down for a test drive and if I sign the papers. They think they have it sold, hmm well they haven't met me yet. Maybe I'm tough, but I work dam hard for my money and I'm not just going to give it out easily.
