Damn 00celica00gt, what is your problem with me? Did I say something to piss you off or what? Why do you keep coming back here just to bust my balls? I even put up a picture like everybody asked me to. Please tell me what I can do to get you to stop busting on me. I don't come to your topic and give you a hard time.
And like I said before, I'm not rich, I'm in the Army.
Anyway, back to the people who just want to talk. I need your opinions. I just got this roll bar and it's not like the one I asked my friend to get for me. I wanted the kind that have the bar that is level going across your back, so I could hook the harnesses to it. Now this one looks ok and a harness would fit good on the drivers side, but where the hell am I going to hook up the other side. Any sugestions? This roll bar will look much better once he chromes it. I think so anyway.

AZZKIKR,
Thank you very much. That is an outstanding price for that kind of work. I will have them do that next month. I got the roll bar from Pro-tech in Austin. What do you think of it?

AZZKIKR, what the hell is 00celica00gt's problem? Does he do this to everybody or is just me? It looks like you have been here for awhile, just thought you might know.
Anyway, what's next for you? Turbo? Can you give me any advise on this Turbo kit we are putting together? I trust the guy that is doing it, I just like to get other opinions. I email him with questions, but he is so swamped with work and emails that it takes him a long time to get back to me. Like I asked him why he wanted to use a Precision Turbo for my kit and not Greddy or HKS and he still has not got back to me. Do you know of Precision Turbos?

So I have a couple more questions for everybody before I go. I love the sound of my TRD Exhaust, but the shop recomended I go with 3" pipe all the way back with a Apex n1 exhaust. Can anybody tell me if the Apex has a good sound or does it sound like a swarm of bee's?
Next question is I would like to know if any of you live in Dallas? I'm having trouble with a shop called AVA finishing up there and I was wondering if anybody knows of them.
I took my plastic spark plug cover to them to be chromed about a year ago and now they still have my part and will not return my calls. Thanks for any help you guys could give me. Gotta go.

Since you have a Turbo, you should do a custom exhaust with 3" piping. I would either get the Apex'i N1 Turbo muffler, or a Tanabe super racing medallion muffler. thumbsup

FUCK the custom...check c2power.com...they have complete kits that are tried and tested under huge power...as for the Turbo and what not...not for me...I would go lower compression if I were to do that...they sell 8.8:1 pistons...they have been tested in the GT engine up to 385 whp so far...and show no signs of giving up...look at monkeywrenchracing.com

as for other members, and their posts, yes, some people flame, and I'm not one of those...I try to help, if someone is flaming me I ignore them...I do what I want because I'm the one driving the car...not them...also, and I'm not speaking at 00celica00gt in particular, but A LOT of members won't believe your mods until you post video, lots of pics, or simply run them over with your car...remember...it is your choice to let people get to you...ITS THE INTERNET...lastly, and I run into this often, especially in real life...the more successful you are the more envy you attract...its just a fact of life

Sounds like your cars all over the place. LITERALLY. Good luck with it all though! Things take time I know. Seeing your interior reminded me of the state of mine. It took a nasty side impact and is being repaired. When I went down to see it last the entire interior except for the dash had all been stripped out and everything was covered with white dust. The cars a 2003 and it looked like it was a hundred years old. Very depressing. The fucking repairs were supposed to take 2 weeks and its going on for 2 months now because nobody knows how to stitch the leather around the airbag on the seat. So Toyota have had to get hold of some specialist firm to do the work.

The cars had 10,000 GBP spent on it so far, plus the 20,000 GBP for buying it in the first place. Blitz sonic air filter and Veilside exhaust add another grand.

So that means I've got a $55,685.3 CELICA! As it stands at the time this thread was posted.

rofl Probably one of the most expensive stock Celicas on the site!!!

Thank you all very much. You guys have been huge help. Let me respond to each of you one at a time. But first I have to say to qt1ncelica, please, please, please hold that hood for me. Tell me what kind of deposit I need to send you to hold it and I'll send you a check tonight. Where in Cali are you? I have a brother in Bakersfield and my little brother lives in Fontana. Either one could come pick it up. I have to have to have it. If somebody tries to buy it from under me, please tell them that I will out bid them and I will.

MptGlw69,
I never thought of that. Would that be more expensive? How would that be better? They are doing 3" pipe all the way back, but I never thought of a custom muffler. Thanks

AZZKIKR,
You have been extremely helpful. 385whp out of a GT engine. That is the answer that I have been searching for. I can't tell you how much that made my day, hearing those numbers and somebody with the hood I thought I would never find. What a great day.
8.8:1 pistons from monkeywrench.com it is. I'll take that advise and run with it.
I also wanted to tell you that I thinks it's cool the way you put a picture of you and your girl on your profile. I think everybody should do that.
Good advise on the flamers. I'll try to ignore them to.

Veilside_300,
Thanks. Sorry to hear about your trouble. I also wanted to tell you that I read your story about the yellow Celica. Good story. I thought "Hell yes, go Celica". I like those kind of stories. I have heard some stupid shit before like "yeah, I smoked a vette today", and I think "shut the hell up you idiot, you didn't smoke a damn Vette in your stock Celica". But your's was a good story. I don't know why that guy decided to call bullshit on you, but I have to say, when you two started fighting, that was the funniest damn thing I ever read. You have to admit that shit he said about having a brake dance off with you was some funny shit. Man I was laughing my ass off.
Anyway, Thanks again.

round2gts,
I left my car with a friend. He owns a stereo install shop in Austin. Before I went looking for the best installer I could find, I spent about a year trying to design the perfect interior and system. When I finally decided that I had it, I drew it up and colored it the way I wanted. Then I found the best installer in texas, Brent Davison, owner of BDaudiocreations in Austin. I showed him my drawing and he pretended to be impressed, being the nice guy that he is. Then he showed me some of the systems he created. I took one look at them and asked him if he could create one for me and throw my drawing, that I spent a year on, in the trash.
He also agreed to keep my car at his shop for the year I will be here and take it from shop to shop, having all the work done that I want. I send him money, he makes it happen and sends me pics when it's done. That's where I got the two pics I posted here. From him. He was showing me the new shaved handles and roll bar that just came in. I want everything done by a pro. I will not risk me messing anything up. I work on my junkers. That's it.

I would like to ask you all a question. How many of you think qt1ncelica's car is absolutely beautiful? I love it. Very nice color, good choice in body kit parts and nice wheels.
No, I'm not just sucking up to her because she is a girl and she is selling me the hood that I have been searching for for so long. I just thought it would be nice if we could all tell her what a great job she has done.
Thanks again Kathy, I am forever in your debt.

Now I would like to hear from all you bass heads.
When I sat down with Brent Davison to go over how we were going to do my system, there were a few things I had to have. I wanted it to have enough bass to blow out the windows and shake the ground around the car, I wanted the mids to be loud enough to be heard a block away and be clear as possible, it had to do all this and still be small and light enough that it would not slow my car down to much, it had to be the best equipment that money could buy, the install had to be an original design that has never been done and look better than any system ever made (besides cars like the Alpine Civic), I don't have that much money.
To choose the system, I asked for the help of an old bass head that has been into sound off competitions for the past 15 years. He recomended Zapco amps, a Treo sub and Boston accuistic mids and highs.
When he said Zapco amps, I said "what the hell is that? Something from wall-mart or Radio-shack? Because that's what the name sounded like to me. Turns out Zapco amps have won more world sound off competitions than any other amp. But most people have never heard of them. Strange.
Most subs have a max power handling. When I bought my 18" Treo sub, the warranty says " This sub will handle any amp made." Warranty for one year after installed.
So I'll have one Zapco 9.0 putting 4500 watts to the one 18" sub, two Zapco 3.0 putting 2600 watts to the 8 boston speakers on the doors up front, 2 SPL caps, 2 red top batteries in the trunk, dynomat all around and a Kenwood head unit.
How do you guys think this will all sound? All this equipment cost me about $7000. The only thing cheap is the Kenwood. Should I replace it with something better or does it make that much difference (a cheap unit or an expensive one)?

Next up is the looks of the engine. The best looking Celica engine I have ever seen is in the "Red Dragon". So I took a picture of his engine to Pro-tec and said "make me a Turbo kit exactly like this one". The only thing I don't like about his engine is the black Intake manifold and the spark plug cover not being there.
So Pro-tec is making me a large, custom chromed Intake manifold.
AVA Finishing is chroming my spark plug cover.
I have spent hundreds of hours with a polishing wheel and Mothers metal polish on my whole engine. Polish it long enough and the you can make the whole engine look almost chrome.
Now to decide what to do with the other engine plastics. Right now they are red. Painted by a shop in Killeen and they look nice, but everybody does that and I need something different. I like the carbon fiber ones, but I wouldn't like too much carbon fiber under the hood. Maybe just the two small pieces and cut the big engine cover down some to show off the engine a little more.
What do you guys think so far? Thanks for any help. Gotta go.

AZZKIKR,
That site you gave me is the best damn site I have ever seen for our engine. I made a list of what I will order from there. Flywheel, clutch, pully kit, connecting rods, piston and sleeve kit, coated skirts, valve springs, valves, stud kits for the head, exhaust manifold, and mains and a limited slip differential. That comes to $5,612 for all that.
I still have to contact C2gas for the tranny set.
So what else am I forgetting here?
Let me email Pro-tec and see what all this will cost to install.

Custom exhaust are usually a lot cheaper than getting a pre-made one. Also, the TRD exhaust doesn't come in 3" so how are they planning on doing that?

Hey MptGlw69,
I won't be able to use my TRD exhaust. That is up for sale. I was just going to get the Apexi-N1 like the shop recomended, but if you say a custom exhaust is cheaper, I'll ask them about that. I'm just not sure if you are talking about the muffler or the pipes that go from the header to the back axle? When you say exhaust, I guess you're talking about like a cat-back exhaust right?

I was shopping online today for the Apexi-N1 and found it for a couple hundred less than Pro-tech said it would be, but it didn't say the size of it. This is a stupid question, but is there different sizes of the Apexi-N1? There must be, right?

Yes, there is a one with a 60MM inlet and one with a 80MM(turbo muffler). And yes, when I say custom exhaust, I mean from the cat-back.

I'll offer up some words of wisdom where I can; on the sound. Kenwood heads are great, and for the extra perks, get some Sirius sat. radio with it. That is one purchase you won't regret, especially if you drive a lot and make road trips home.

I also spent $500 on two pair of MB Quart speakers, and I've never heard better quality. They sound perfect even at the maximum volume my deck will go to. thumbsup

And yeah, qt1n's celi makes me think bad things. tasty

You know, everyday when I come back from my patrols or when I wake up, I check my email and get depressed when there is no email from my family. Then I come here and you all really make my day. qt1ncelica, TrojanUSMC, AZZKIKR, GOLDCELICA and many others, you are all great people.
qt1ncelica, thank you so much for holding the BRS hood for me. That picture of your trunk is awesome. Very nice. That is a lot like the way mine is being done. The picture of GOLDCELICA's engine bay, also very nice. I have always liked his car. He just sent me a long PM full of very good advice. I have to write back to him right now.
TrojanUSMC, Yes, it was a hard choice between MB Quart and Boston. Everybody has always said MB Quart is the best and that is what I was set on getting, but the guy who recomended my system to me swore that bostons were a little better. I seen that the Bostons could handle a little more power, so I bought 2 sets for $1500.
That picture of GOLDCELICA's engine, what is that chrome box with TRD engraved on it?

I haven't read much more than the first page and a bit of the second to see what my response about beating the Supra in a show was.

So with that being said, I'd like to say that I hold nothing against badceli and I don't doubt that there has been $60 000 dumped into the car, it's not surprising in the slightest as there are people who dump that much and more into their cars.

I still find it hard to comprehend that a judge would like a Celica more than Supra that has more done to it, but hey anything is possible even if it doesn't make a lot of sense.

All-in-all, badceli is fine in my books, and I eagerly await updates on what their car looks like and how it runs and yadda yadda.

Vampyre,
I perfectly understand your doubt. It is very hard to believe. I'm still new to car shows, but I can tell you what I know and maybe it will help you see how I beat them.
You might know this already, but I'll tell you just incase you have not seen how cars are scored.
It's not the same at every show, it's usually broke into sections. Engine, suspension, wheels, body, paint, graphics, interior, undercarriage and over all apearance. You have a maximum amount of points you can score for each section. Some shows say max of 5 points, some say max of 100.
So for an example on how I win, I'll just pick one Supra that comes to mind and tell you how the judges must have scored us. Starting with the engine. His was awesome. Lots of chrome and very built. Cost him tons of money. He scored high there. Mine looked pretty good. Nice painted engine plastics, some chrome and I polish every inch of my engine.
Next is suspension. He had nothing. I painted or polished all the parts of mine. Got some points. Next is wheels. His were old and had some scratches. Mine were new and spotless, plus the chrome looks flashy. Then undercarriage. His was dirty. Mine was spotless, polished or painted. Then body. He had nothing. Mine has a body kit and not a scratch on it.
Next is interior. He had nothing. I had a sound system and a dvd player. Then over all appearance. This is where I think the Celica shines because it's just a beautiful car. So I won.
Take a look at how much it cost too build a chromed out, fully built Supra. Plus the price of the car. It's not hard to have $100,000 into a Supra and still get beat by one of us.
If you look at the picture of my car on page 3, it's all dirty and the interior is pulled out, getting ready for the new sound system, but you can see it's still a beautiful car and it does not have much done to it.
Richard Zamora has won more best of shows than anybody in Texas with his Civic. He said he has a total of about $30,000 into it and he beats everybody. I just get best Toyota or Celica. Hope this helps.

JSPITZ,
The car is 3 years old and I bring home about $3000 a month from the Army. After I pay my house payment and other small bills, the rest has gone to the Celica.

I also spent $500 on two pair of MB Quart speakers, and I've never heard better quality. They sound perfect even at the maximum volume my deck will go to. thumbsup

And yeah, qt1n's celi makes me think bad things. tasty

Hi Kathy,
I just got done sending you a PM. Are you ready for me to send this money to you?
No, I have not won best of show, but that is my goal. Before I came here to Iraq I bought a bunch of stuff and I'm also sending all my money to a friend who is building up my car. So I hope that when I get back, I'll be able to win a best of show and start getting some of this money back. Yes, you get about $1,500 for best of show.
A Civic owner can buy all the stuff I did for half of what I paid or better. I paid $6000 for my Turbo kit, they are only $1,500 for a Civic.

Peterkwon87,
Thank you, but you must have my car mistaken with somebody elses. My car is the plain red one with a TRD kit and chrome wheels on page 3 of this topic. It's covered in dirt, the interior is out of it and I haven't done anything to the exterior yet.
Did you see the picture of qt1ncelica's on here and think it was mine? If we all took a vote on who has the best looking Celica on this site, mine would probably be in the bottom 5 or so. But thank you anyway.
Which reminds me of something I wanted to ask everybody. I'm sure you have all seen "Online Showoff.com" and "The Extreme Team on TeamCelica.com". What do all think of EverythingCelica.com doing something like that? I think it would be pretty cool. We could call it something like "ECelica top 10 rides" or something like that. Let me know what you think and if enough people like the idea, I'll write to the makers of this site and see if they could make a section like that on here for us.

Thanks Kathy,
If we can make it happen, I would like to be the first to vote for you and GOLDCELICA to be on it.
Did you get my PM? The money will be there in a couple hours.

I'm curious to see what everybody thinks of this idea. I would start a new topic, but I don't want to have more than one topic.
Can somebody start a topic and call it "Top 10 ECelica rides" and ask what people think about having a section like that on here?
I bet you it will get more views then "$60,000 Celica" is getting. Yes, I know everybody does not view my topic because it's interesting. I know they just want to see the $60,000 Celica. Next pic to come should be the door panels. I can't wait to see what he comes up with. I just gave him a few ideas and then let him do his thing. So, we'll see. Soon.
