I have a GT 5 speed, but today one of my coworkers (female) and I went in her car to some certified training class for work. She has a GTS 6 speed.
And now I regret going. I want a GTS now.
It was still hella fun spending the day with her (she is like the coolest, most outgoing girl I have ever met) because we were driving around the city messing with civics and stuff.
ahh oh well atleast be friendly with her there is nothing wrong with being friendly to her Naw but hey bro you ever get my pm from before?? I sent you a pm last week about your location

Oh my bad man. How do I check PM's? I'm fairly new to this site so I don't know if I get new ones or not. Sorry dude.
how often do you gts guys hit lift? more than once a day?
hahah to be honest with you bro, i havent hit lift at all since saturday night. I hella want to hit lift but since my car is a daily driver. And my workplace is a 80 mile trip to and from work. I just need to take it easy on my car because I want my baby to last me for a long time! But on weekends I hit lift all the time
but for the engine it necessarily isnt bad on it right? ever since i put on my trd exhaust ive been hitting it alot. im with rookiegts though, i want mine to last a long ass time.
i do believe your lift bolts would wear out faster.. as they do wear out..
correct me if i'm wrong...
Josh why don't you invite your "friend" to join ecelica
If you hit lift often, you're going to wear your lift bolts faster. They're going to last you a while, so I wouldn't worry about it. Change them eventually when you feel a loss in power during lift. Means the ends are worn and need to be replaced.
Hey ravertony, that your girl? Shes cute. Like the sig!

I'd say it's very similar to vtec, but with a slight heavier kick to it. It's almost as good as a small Turbo, but not as good, can't wait to Turbo my car. Boost and Lift at the same time should be awesome.
i experienced vtec(i-vtec rsx-s) and lift(gts). to be honest, lift is more noticable than vtec. it doesnt mean ur car is going faster, it just kicks harder and i guess thats because of the powerband increase at 6000rpm, while the rsx-s powerband is smoother and you dont feel the kick. plus i remember first time i hit lift the wheel pulled a bit. you really have to hold the steering wheel or else you lose a bit control. im used to putting my hand over the wheel usually, but i shouldnt. as of driving too much on lift, i dont really think its that bad, i mean vtec ppl drive it like crazy always on vtec, but everyone is scared to take their celicas to lift. if you are afraid, then why did you buy a gts and wut is lift there for? its there for use, so use it but dont abuse it. its true that ur gonna put more stress to ur engine, but IMO its only gonna take like 2000 miles away from ur engines life. you just have to keep an eye on the lift bolts and ur fine.
ps. i wonder wut they used on the elise. wut kinda lift bolts they using on the elise, cz i dont think an exotic car should go back to a shop just for stupid bolts breaking for no reason.
i remember the first time i hit lift, i was in 3rd gear which in my opinion is our best gear, and i was going around a turn, and i had it a bout 3/4ths - full throttle and all the sudden my engine screamed and me and my friends head went straight back into the seat , i got so fuckin scared i shut down because i almost lost control going around the turn because this shot of power was so unexpected, and me and my friend both looked at eachother were like , and my friend takes a puff of the blunt and goes ... "dude your car just got pissed off" ... lol... it was cool, ill never forgot that, was hilarious
I'm not quite sure what the hell is up with the huge hype involved with lift. It's cool, but nothing that special. Test drive an EVO, when the Turbo boots you into the seat, lift is a thing of the past.

this is very true, but hey wtf we are not all rich, and we cant afford one, and im sure we all love our celicas, so a Turbo boost for the evo lovers is like lift to us, i still remember my first time 2, it was 2 months after i bought the car, i know 2 fucking months, i was not that big of a racer kind of kid then, but then i was like ummmm wat if i red line it, so i did, and wow after that, i became a racer, hahahahha I LOVE LIFT, also its very true about the (RSX) there vtec kicks in super smoother, so yeah i personally like lift better

u know what the big deal about lift is? is providing an engine w/ 100 hp per liter and still get 30 mpg...think of it as gas saving power..hehe
