I think TRD will plan something for the 8th gen celica because first off...it's going to compete with everyone in it's class and all those cars have support for turbos or whatever. So TRD may think that maybe they should give this 8th gen celica more power and a supercharger for even better power. I hope that is what happens...even though I probably won't get the 8th gen anyway. But I know they should also do something for the 7th gen...but they probably just don't want to.

That sucks really bad. They are always making good parts for all the other cars but when it comes to the celica their like nah we might end up saleing it to an unresponcible teenager. TRD SUCKS!!

[i]"I emailed the help line on the TRD website about their supercharger for the 1.8 here is what I got back:
At this time the supercharger for the 1zz engine will only be available for
the 03 Matrix and 03 Corolla. There are several factors that interfere with
the installation on the Celica GT, one being the clearence issue with the
hood. From our testing you would have to cut a 13" by 15" hole in the hood
to beable to fit the supercharger. By altering the hood it actually makes
your vehicle out of warranty with Toyota since you are altering a DOT
approved hood. This is the reason why we can not release it for the Celica
at this time. Please try back around September or October and see where we
are at on this.

i told ya..those trd engineers are wacky! "hey guys, lets make a supercharger and build a car AROUND it and not the other way around...lol!" the late nights and the fumes must be getting to them

I don't know what the big deal is, look at the big ass hoods on Mustangs, Camaros, and Firebirds. TRD can come up with a hood that works, but with the Gen8 coming out next year I think we will get fucked over.

they could work with it...but that is just going to cost them more...something they don't want to do.
they could design a hood and sell it with the supercharger if they made it for the celica...but if the sales of the supercharger are not that high...then the money used for these hoods produced would just have gone to waste in a way...that's what I think.
