Engine Parts
(2ZZ engine) Super Charger for Celica GTS

Trial JP has put together a Super Charger Kit for the GTS Celica and
Trial USA has made it available to the US in three variations for you to choose from.
Slight differences in the US and Jspec cars make it necessary to modify the Jspec super charger. Those mods will be done at Trial in Japan before shipping. Important All kits are for off road use only and are not CARB legal.
Shipping on all kits is $95.00 within North America.

The TRIAL Kit includes the compressor, inter cooler and all necessary piping and brackets for the installation plus a Trial Pre-Programmed Apex-i Power FC, Trial Titanium muffler and Trial exhaust manifoldclick to go to header page. This computer has maps similar to the Trial JP Track Celica. Modifications to the fuel, ignition and vvti maps have been set to 91 octane US fuel.
You can further improve your results by fine tuning the power fc to the individual car by a professional with Power FC Commander (sold separately).
Price $7599.95

All kits should be installed by a professional tuning shop. Instructions in English are provided.

Super Charger vs Turbo

Power
Lately turbo kits for the 2zz engine have also come out. Turbo's will generally put out more power than a super charger, but the power comes out at higher rpm. The GTS already puts out good power at higher rpm and due to the weak valves, you don't want to play in the high rpm range anyway.
Drivability
Super Chargers have lower power but the power is there from start to finish. Super Chargers are usually better for daily driving rockets and in town driving.
Turbos get really hot and in the case of the Celica, the turbo is right by the firewall, near the cabin of your car! This can cause extreme heat to enter your cabin by your feet.
Reliability and Maintenance
Super Chargers are generally more reliable than turbo chargers. Turbo chargers get very hot and require you to idle your car awhile after use, to insure that the oil running through the turbo doesn't burn to the turbine and ruin it. A turbo timer will do this for you, but this is one worry you won't have at all with a Super Charger. Just turn off your car when you want.
Different Strokes...
If you are looking to be a high power drag winner, then a Turbo is where you want to be. If you just want to add some hp to your celica, increase performance throughout your power band, but keep reliability, a Super Charger might be what you are looking for. They sound really cool too!
Dyno Charts coming soon!

TRIAL 3ZZ Naked Engine for MR2 Spider, Celica GT, and GTS
This is a naked engine. Just swap with the engine you have now (some modifications necessary).
If you have a Celica GTS, you can use the stock fuel infectors. Otherwise you will need to go with an aftermarket application. The complete engine includes a 2ZZ engine base with the 3ZZ kit already installed (see kit contents below).

Most wiring, piping, tubing or connectors are generally not included.

This kit has not been tested outside of Japan so we can offer no support of this product outside of Japan.

* Prices do not include shipping from Japan.

(GT)1ZZ to (GTS) 2ZZ conversion kit $3721.95 (computer included)
Includes used 2zz engine, necessary mounts and harnesses.

Optional Parts
TRIAL Exhaust Manifold $880.00
Power FC $890.95
TRIAL Titanium Muffler

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(GT) 1ZZ to 3ZZ (Celica) $7521.95
Includes 3zz engine (used 2zz base), necessary mounts and harnesses.

Optional Parts
TRIAL Exhaust Manifold $880.00
Power FC $890.95

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(GTS) 2ZZ to 3ZZ $6995.85
Includes 3zz engine (used 2zz base)
We recommend fuel settings done with Power FC or Fcon V-Pro (sold separately)

Optional Parts
TRIAL Exhaust Manifold $765.95
Power FC $890.95

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The 3zz internals kit includes:
Engine Crank, Connecting Rods, Pistons,
Crank End Spacer Ring, Crank End Oil Seal,
Front Spacer Washer, Metal Head Gasket.

Kit Price $2,800.00 (MSRP)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Other information

For a base, a new or used 2zz engine must be provided or paid for by the customer.
Original mounts are slightly modified and used.

Apex-i power FC or HKS F-Con V-Pro can be used for maximum performance.

The car will run normally without any fuel modifications until you start
to put on the gas.

Other fuel controllers such as Apex-i S-AFC might work but Power FC and V
Pro are recommended for best results.

After the kit you get about 220 hp and 20 kg of torque. on Japanese high octane gas (105).
The Engine will hold up to 8,000 RPM. The valves are thought to be the weak point of this engine.
The stock valves are generally ok up to 7,000 rpm, but if you plan on going over that,
a valve kit is recommended. The valves used on the Trial Shop Car are $2,800.00 (MSRP).
Stock valve springs are fine.

Compression for the kit is raised to 13:7.1 but it can be left at just a little over stock or even lowered.. The higher compression increases power but would cause problems with lower octane gas. You may also special order low compression pistons.

Note: Quality of gasoline varies from country to country. The above stats were acquired with Japanese 105 octane gas.

Your looking at like $8000 For the Trial SC and about $750+ for the new hood. Dont think so. Any you havent even built the engine yet. Sorry dude. You havent sold me. I agree that a Super Charger is Generaly better for your car and is a more constant power for the car, but at those prices id rather have a fully built motore with a turbo kit.

whoa, too much reading..i didn't finish but i'm posting my point of view on this anyway..forgive me if the same info was already posted up. i remember reading that s/c are recommended for large engines b/c of the torque increase it provides. and turbo is recommended for small engines for the top end gains.

i agree w/ johnsgt..i don't have a turbo or nuttin..but i do my own research n listen to people w/ experience..so in my opinion, it's pointless to s/c ur celica..it's not gonna make you pull like a truck...also, any f/i for a gts wouldn't be a very good idea b/c u'd have to cancel the lift (which is the beauty of that engine) to make the turbo or s/c as useful as possible...and no, lift + turbo does not = mad power..it just confuses the engine till it goes nuts. think of it this way...low compression go turbo. high compression, go n/a. for big fat muscle v8 engines, get a "blower" aka s/c.

And there are places in the U.S that already have the blitz in stock so you don't have to import. Theres barely any rearranging that needs to be done at all if any. And if you quoting him 7000$ to get it running, a serious turbo will run that much anyways so its comes down to preference.

The reason i said theres only 3, is because blitz had some guys come to the U.S. and install and tune the s/c on 3 cars, my buddies being one of them. So don't get smart with me. Yes i understand there could be a few more, but not likely more than a handful in the entire U.S. And just because a shop says they have it on their website doesn't mean they really have it. You have to call them. According to some people i know, they dont know of any shops that actually have the kit in stock, so thats what i was going on, i didnt actually try calling every single shop that claims they have it. Trial doesnt even have any. So most likely you will have to import it. A serious turbo will not cost anywhere near $7000, you gotta be on crack. $7000 is just for the s/c and install. You can have a turbo plus install for a lil over $4000, im sorry but to most people $3k is a big difference. You can't compare a turbo with tuning, and every possible accesory, and built motor for 7k, the same as just the s/c installed with nothing else.

Im trying it the friday and saturday after Thanksgiving. At the very least if it doesnt work we will know it wont work with any piggyback since Monkey Wrench Racing is probably the best tuner to go to.
